Just got my G-Tank-US up and running.

This is my first experience with a genesis style atomizer. My first wick and coil assembly and first vape.

Dang, this is pretty nice. There is a metallic twang to my vape, though. Does that go away?

Yep, it should do once your wick becomes more seasoned. Glad it's working out for you right off the bat.

poland, and the brassy lands of google
Dan, I just got home from work in time to meet the mailman at the door, having just rung my bell. He had my package, and I must say this is one fine piece of kit, I'm looking forward to putting this together and getting it running as soon as I eat.

It is lighter than I expected too. :)

Thanks a million again Dan, you are the best!!!:thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

Feels good to be green.
Bluegrasslover can u post close up pics of your wick set up?
Thanks, and thanks dan for your sticktoitofness.

Here you go. It's not the prettiest thing but it work incredibly well. It's made from strands of cotton string from gauze. I folded the coil end over to double the size.

I'm curious as well as I thought the top cap of the Vision Stone tank was threaded so how would that work and wondering if it just press-fits into place or is loose on the poly tube?

You can see a better pic of the top cap at the below link:

Vision 5ml 2.0 Ohm Stone Tank Clearomizer

But I'm wondering if my current carto tank caps (either delrin or SS) would also work the same way since I believe the ID of the tank (5/8') is the same as the poly tube for the Ghost Protocol tube but can't seem to find what the ID of the poly used for the GP is?

Anyway, just my 2 and 3 cents :)

I just used 3/4" OD x 5/8" ID x 1/16" Wall Polycarbonate Tubing. The vision stone top is a super tight fit since there are no threads. I heated up the tubing to make it a little softer so I could thread the top on. It was a pain in the .... but would have been much easier if I had a heat gun. I was using a blow torch. I just made another one last night and did that one without heat. It's pretty much impossible to thread it down all the way but throw an o-ring on there and the gap is hidden and it looks great.

This thing is vaping great, now. It's still cooler than I'd like, but I'm getting used to it. Flavor and vapor production are awesome now that this wick has had a good break-in period. I'm actually switching back and forth between my VV Reo with a 510 atty and my Darwin with the G-Tank on it and am liking the G-Tank better at the moment

Dan, you da man :toast:

bluegrass, try the T top. It's much better in that regard. I just set mine up that way and it's everything the eGo-T should have been :D I'm gonna have to try it with a fiber wick, just for the sake of trying it. That's what I'm most familiar with in rebuildables, anyway, but after getting past the learning curve I do like the mesh quite a bit

In the T top setup, I'm getting slightly more throat hit and slightly less flavor than I did with the 3ml tank. Draw is just a little tighter, too. I suspect this is because I left the o-ring from the 3ml tank in place and it's restricting airflow just a little bit. The draw for me right now is very similar to the type-B attys, maybe just a tad lighter, but all other aspects are much better than they were. Personally, I like a reasonably tight draw, anyway.

Hey, bstedh, did you mean to blank post above?

Ok I have had one person with a bad 5ml top (corrected) and one person with a bad screw (resent) and one person that had the brass plate that was not threaded (Will ship another out tomorrow).
If you somthing is missing/does not fit correctly, please PM me and I will exchange/replace it for you.
Thanks,
Dan
