i've used mine at least 6 weeks (cleaning aboot once a week-ish) before i give up on em. i've seen others say they last considerably longer. some of it probably depends on the type of juice you use.

I clean mine with about the same frequency, usually fill with same juices. Have one that discolors the juice so I have since thrown it out.

You mean you had a colored tank that leeched color into the eliquid? (Or did the wick burn and taint the juice?) That might be the first sign that one of your hotter juices started to melt the tank.

And I haven't retired any of my 3 tanks yet after 3 or 4 weeks. However, I won't put something thick like VooDoo in there. I have a blue one that has had Malibu (plus Belgian) for 3 weeks, multiple fills, haven't rinsed it yet.

The others get rinsed and reused. But I think I have to soak them longer, depending on what was in there, and what will be in there.

I find the G6 minitanks to be a tighter draw than the triton tanks, and also seems hotter. I'll have to try the same juice in each, side by side. But the miniTank is way better than a carto. Hands down.

Oh, but you have a G6. I notice other peeps on other threads suggest a cool tank, but have no idea if it'll fit a G6. I'd search for a vape store near you, take your G6 with you (haha, like has it ever been without you?) and see what fits.

Hey!!

Did anyone else notice a little flaw with the mini tanks? Regarding the printed graduations, the bottom of the tank is labeled with 0.1ml. I'll have to use my graduated dropper from the 30ml. bottle and see what's up.

(feels like 9th grade chemistry. Ahh, high school, the best 7 years of my life...)

I use mine (with same juice over & over) for about two weeks till they start to get "that weird taste", then I either rinse or toss, depending on how many I have left.

I find it strange, because I assume most of these come from the same source regardless of vendor, that all the mini tanks I get from anywhere else but Halo seem to have a funky taste (right off the bat or within a day of using) and shorter life span. They look identical to Halo's and are packaged the same, but I've given up trying to save a buck or two because those cheaper ones just disappoint me.

I've just ordered a couple of G6 minitanks to use with my Triton for tasting small sample batches of liquid. Arrive next week.
Two questions:

Can I carry them around filled with juice in my travel case when I'm out and about, or will they leak?

Regarding cleaning: are they cleaned as are my Triton tanks (screw off the tip, screw out the coil, rinse etc.) or are they built differently?

Yes, you can carry them around. I have fewer leak issues with the minis than with the tritons.

No screw off. The tip is just pressed into place. Nothing else comes apart. Just rinse well, give a soak in warm water (i use distilled) if you want to.

Be careful of the juices you put in. Any Halo juice is fine, as are any Alice juices. But citrus, cinnamons, and a few others might melt the tank. Just take a good look at it after you fill it after 20 minutes or so. And look for any discoloration of your juice.

And if you put Belgian in, it'll probably taste like Belgian for it's (short) life. If you put something in, and it's ruined from the previous juice, at least you only waste under 1ml. So go mild, then to the heavier flavors.

As for tasting, I find these minitanks hit harder and harsher. VooDoo is definately poor, but rocks in the Triton Tank.

Enjoy.

I can attest to the fact that they won't stand up to cinnamon. I knew it already, but I think my brain was temporarily shut off when added a few drops of Cin Red Hots into whatever flavor I had in there. Within an hour, the plastic on the tank started getting cloudy. When I went to remove the tip, it has fused to the tank itself!

It went in the trash.

yeah Voodoo through a mini-tank is very mediciney...and darker juices like voodoo and belgian will require you to either keep that tank reserved for that juice or give it a good overnight soak in vodka or pure grain alcohol to get rid of the taste.

Thanks for the several tips in reply to my questions.

Based on these two comments, it sounds as if my plan to use the minitanks as a small sampling method won't be very dependable. Some juices, which may not hit the spot in the minitank, may be very pleasing in the Triton. So, I suppose if I like it in the minitank, I'll like it in the Triton. But, if I don't like it in the mini, I might change my mind about it when I vape it in the Triton. Fair conclusion?

I now use the mini-tanks for tasting, but depending on the juice, I may use them exclusively. I've been vaping on my new setup of a Evod VV and mini-Protank II for a week now. Several ejuices I didn't like in the G6/Triton setup, but now liked them in the mini-Protank II (bottom coil). So, I second the idea that the mini-tanks are harsher and warmer, but that is not necessarily a bad thing either; it really depends on the juice. I still prefer, my favorite juice (Twisted Java), in the mini-tanks over the mini-Protank and Triton. So I still regard my G6 as "my precious".

For me, the whole "vaping equipment thing" is not an issue of "is the Triton better than the mini tank" or "is the mini-Protank setup better than the Triton". Its more of a question of what juice tastes better in what type of equipment to you; that is the adventure. Its also a mood thing .... "do I want a smooth/cool/refined bottom coil vape, or do I want warm vape with character".

How would a VV change the equation? Should this be my next acquistion from Halo, or elsewhere?

I'm new to the VV world, so take this for what its worth.

Most people recommend a VV, but it will not drastically change the taste of a juice. BUT complex juices (Tiki/Midnight Apple/Voodoo) tend to morph a little (I couldn't think of a better word). For example, sometimes Midnight Apple will have perfume notes, sometimes it will taste like a apple tobacco, and at other times it turns into something else. The same thing happens with regular batteries, but you can change the intensity with a VV.

It's also fun playing with different coil resistances, but you need to study the "Vaping Power Chart" (link below). For example, a 1.8 ohm coil (you choose this when you buy a tank) is going to have less favor, but you'll get a warmer vape and loads of vapor; a 3.0 coil is the opposite. Also, a 1.8 coil will drain your battery faster than a 3.0 coil. There also the whole VG/PG thing too.

The only thing you really need to know about VV is the range on the dial you can vape something at. For example, if using a 1.8 coil, you should only turn the dial on the battery to a max setting of 3.70 according to the Vaping Power Chart 2.0. You also can tell the range, because if the setting is too high a burnt taste starts coming through.

Some people advise to pick a resistance and just stay with it; the 2.20 resistance coil tends to be a good all around resistance. I have found some juices do better with different resistance though, so if you like to play around with things this might be something to look into.

Hope that helps.
