I just bought a Gamucci Elite, and I was very happy with it, until the battery died >_<. I havent even used it that much, second day that Ive had it, didnt get much use out of it.

So I decided to pull it apart, and I found a cheap little 3.6v battery AAA sized, im guessing its lithium. This means though, that with the proper hardware modifications, a bit of soldering, I could have a proper ecig that does not need to be thrown away after use, simply buy the pen style cartridges and pop in a battery when needed. I found a rechargable 3.6v battery online for like $2.50, a charger for $15.00, so basically the elite becomes re usable, and actually pretty cheap as far as e cigs go. I have a feeling that someone has tried this before, but I thought that I'd share my thoughts. Besides that, it looks extremely easy to change the led also, Im going to look for a small blue one and red one, so that it will be able to create any color desired.

I really wish that it lasted longer though  for 20 bucks Im not as impressed as I initially was. Anyone had a similar experience?

If anyone is curious as to what the Gamucci Elite looks like taken apart, let me know and ill post pics.

Has anyone taken apart the battery of a RN4081/Npro/PeeWee. I would like to eliminate the battery with an external one, but I would like to preserve the vacum switch and led function, and simply drill a small hole in the side of the cylinder to accept a power lead replaceing the battery. The vacum stitch may be a little tricky, as the small amount of information I can find indicates it is intrical to the battery. I have worked in miniature electronics as a profession, so the actual fabrication is not a problem.
My question revolves around the non destructive disassembly of the battey and related parts. The LED cap pops off, but thats as far as I have gone, wondering if the assembly is set in place with glue. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

BTW- I am 70 years old, smoked cigs since I was 14, average about 25 to 30 a day. Since I got the ecig 2 weeks ago, I have consistantly smoked 4 cigs a day. SEE- You can teach an old dog new tricks !!

congrats on getting down to 4 a day! I'm sure once you've got a few solid, satisfying vaporizers you'll be able to do nothing but vape!

I'm just itching to build a Magnum or screwdriver :p
