I would buy both 28 gauge and 32 gauge for around a 1.5-1.8 ohm coil. Depending on what coil you build both will benefit. And if your looking for taste I would highly recommend getting Kanthal ribbon wire. When I made a coil with a ribbon wire, it doesn't necessarily heat up as hot or produce as much vapor as the 28 or 32 gauge, but it brings out the flavor of a juice that the 28 and 32 gauge wires cant.

You could basically use any gauge wire to reach your ohm range. The larger the number, the more ohms. 28g will need less wire, so if kayfuns are tight on space, that'd be good. I personally use 30g wire and to get around 1.5 ohms I do 4-5 wraps for most RDAs. 28 and 26g wire are thicker, so you'll have less hotspot problems with them.

28 can lack responsiveness on a Provai, and 32 doesn't allow for many wraps when making a micro coil. 30 is a great middle ground. I only use 28 for my Provari if making a nano coil. I want to try 29 with the Provari, but 30 works very nicely. I have a Nemesis clone on the way, so maybe I'll get 29 along with some 26 from Temco soon.

To piggyback on this thread,

Does anyone know where I can find "Ribbon Wire" lower than "28" in gauge?

I see there are many options in terms of vendors carrying "Round" wire that is less than "28" in gauge, but I will be damned if I can find a vendor that carries "Ribbon" (AKA: "Flat") wire less than "28" in gauge

I wound up using 30 gauge wire. I found 28 a little too hard to work with. My hands are large so wrapping the coil around the deck screws is a bit of a challenge. The 30 gauge was just enough smaller to allow me to get the job done. The original kayfun lite clone I bought was a dud. Poorly made and flooded constantly even when built by someone who knew what they were doing. So I sent it back. I am now using a Hcigar Kayfun 3.1 clone and started figuring it out. It tastes fantastic!
