Yay, success, this time around. I think I might have downloaded the wrong zip file that's always possible. Now, to see what happens to my BATTERY LIFE. LOL.

Anna

Good to hear. I noticed an improved battery life with mine after the update. Enjoy!

Survival kit for a few nights at my MiL's house. FiL passed away yesterday.
~180ml DIY, mods/tanks, batteries, charger & wifi. All set.
A Legend bounced off the rug from chest height yesterday.
It laughed and chucked cloudz brah.

@Mowgli - My condolences.

On a lighter note – love your survival kit
Thanks. He'll be missed.

Add a cold drink, YouTube, Stephen King and hanging in my CKs in the den with the dogs after midnight peeking out back every so often to try to catch deer, fox or Wile E. Coyote cutting through the yard gives dis joint good late nite ambience.
There's a huge meadow with a pond behind the woods out back and we get occasional varmint trespassers so draining the dogs after dark is a thrill.

Man my battery life is STARTLINGLY better. I'm really glad I did the update. I also don't GET (my mom would be ashamed she was a computer programmer) how all this virtual downloadable stuff can like improve a board's performance THAT MUCH. LOL the stubborn part of my brain is like, "You should have to physically DO stuff to a board for that to happen."

But, I'm not COMPLAINING and for sure, I am thrilled to have better battery life AND Geekvape's process was easy enough I bet I could do updates on ALL my mods, .like Arctic Fox on my Eleaf Invoke, gosh the sky is the limit I GUESS.

As, much like God, I don't have to 100% understand it to believe my performance is substantially improved, etc.

I was hoping for a great mod with the Aegis Legend but unfortunately, my Legend failed after less than 4 months of use. First, the button on the battery door came off. A week later the plastic holding the battery door locking tab cracked preventing the battery door from locking securely. I also noticed that the hinge spring showed signs of excessive rusting. Geek Vape failed to achieve their goal of a rugged, water-resistant mod. I loved this mod and was looking forward to years of trouble-free vaping but the poor battery door design ended that romance.

I am sorry to hear that BobbyV. I bought two back in May when they first came out and I quit using them after a week due to very poor TC. I also rarely use my 3 Aegis 100W and 2 GBOX 200W too. Although the GBOX was the only Geek Vape mod that had a decent chip/firmware in it. I wonder what happened? After the guy wrote the firmware for the GBOX, did Geek Vape fire the programmer or something? Because the firmware for the Aegis and Legend isn't anywhere as stable as the GBOX.

Sorry that you are not feeling good with Aegis and Aegis Legend. Have you tried the firmware update on Aegis Legend?

Water resistance test ...
I was hoping to never have to report on the issue, but it IS water resistant.
I left mine outside in the rain (a fair downpour) for over an hour.
After I dried it off with a paper towel, and checked to make sure that nothing had gotten into the tank, it fired right up.
I'm still a bit leery about updating the firmware, because I've bricked an xCube attempting the process, but after reading Anna's posts about it, I guess I'll have to try.

Yes, my Windows 8.1 can't see them. My computer can see DNA mods, Vandy Vape chips, Wismec mods, and even the Aegis 100W, but not the Aegis Legends.

Mine updates easily on my Mac. On my PC I had to do the following to update the Legend's firmware.

I was trying to update my Legend to version 1.2, kept getting the error message “failed to find device”. I tried all the solutions offered above, none work.
I went to Control Panel – Device Manager – Scroll down to Human Interface Devices – had 3 USB Input Devices listed – unplugged the cable for the Legend now only 2 show up – right clicked on the first one and disabled it – couldn’t disable the second one so I right clicked, and clicked on uninstall device.
Went back to Geekvape’s instructions and it connected and updated hope this helps someone.

@BillW50 – As I am sure you know, computers can be very temperamental so this maybe more of an issue with your computer than the Legend. Certain requirements are needed in order for a master/slave handshake to be established such as an applied voltage as an example. With trouble shooting USB issues I would first try different ports and cables. If using a laptop, plug in its power supply. As a test, I would also unplug all USB peripherals and try plugging the Legend in – if recognized you can start plugging in peripherals one by one. Should you lose connection again then this could indicate a conflict or a drop in voltage across your USB ports.
