but after reading Anna's posts about it, I guess I'll have to try.

If I can not brick something with an update, I'm fairly certain it is easy. My hardest two things were a) finding the USB port (up top) and well concealed, and holding down the "Plus" button while attaching both my USB connections. However, the Geekvape website makes it really easy, although I did have to download some free "unzip" software my computer is running on a very minimalist platform, kind of like how cars with the "base model" are pretty rudimentary.

But the actual update was easy.

Good luck it really is worth it for battery life, I was getting SUPREMELY poor battery life (and while resting, mainly as my wattage is on "11" and even doing stuff like turning it off at night, well I was getting maybe just under two days. Without turning it off on with the update my first pair of batteries lasted almost 4 days.

Good luck!

Anna

Windows 8.1 can't see them.

I thought I saw a windows 8 specific update when I went there it could have been for the Ages though, I wasn't paying that close attention honestly, and I could be wrong (and my apologies if that is what you are already using, etc.)

Water resistance test ...
I was hoping to never have to report on the issue, but it IS water resistant.
I left mine outside in the rain (a fair downpour) for over an hour.
After I dried it off with a paper towel, and checked to make sure that nothing had gotten into the tank, it fired right up.
I'm still a bit leery about updating the firmware, because I've bricked an xCube attempting the process, but after reading Anna's posts about it, I guess I'll have to try.

Thank you for your testing. Hope you will update the firmware successfully.

Question re: firmware upgrade.

Successfully upgraded earlier. I'm curious, though. Will I have to re-download and re-unzip for every update that comes down the line? Or did that function as an actual updater that will simply install the latest version when the next one is available, like my GPS does?

There is no auto update with the current installer. I would suggest you use what ever installer comes with the next firmware for it may change with future releases. Not quite as sophisticated as your GPS

Update update...
Battery life improves by almost 25%.
Before the update I was getting 200 puffs (+/- 5-6) from a full charge on a pair of brown wrapped LGs.
Now I'm getting 250 (+/- 5-6) from the same batteries.
Good stuff...
PS...
The water resistance test I did was UNINTENDED!
I'd never want to leave a mod out in the rain on purpose.
I'm just glad it passed.

After the the update on my Aegis 3 clicks no longer gets me in to settings to change ohms or reset puff counter. Speed of clicks has no effect, what next?

Do I reset to the original, it worked then?
Do you have it locked? While locked, it won't let you change anything. But you still could fire.

Update failures can happen. We read about the horror stories from trying to update apps, software or even an OS's or smartphones. @Edward Denison – no explanation as to why your update failed, could have been a multitude of things. But now that you know you have a contingency, as in reverting to an older FW, you could try again if you wished.

Hate to hear that a SMOK device is working better than your Aegis. The only mod I've ever had brick on me in 6 years was an Alien 220.

My 2 Aegis Legends work great in power mode I don't use them for TC. I've heard some complaints about their TC abilities.

Ya power mode is all I use so the TC fix meant nothing. Same for stealth mode I just don't use it.
