ddloco,
How exactly are you building. I saw that you are making 26/32 Clapton @ 3mm but how are you mounting? I originally tried a spaced single coil, leaving the ceramic baffle in, but it really didn't work out too well.

Somebody from a nearby vapeshop said that he removes the baffle and places his 23g micro between the two posts and then splits his cotton into two on each end to wick it through all four holes. I tried the same with 24g @ 3mm but I think I may have used just a tiny tiny bit too much cotton. The way this guy explained it was that there should be almost zero resistance/tugging while passing the cotton through the coil. There was actually very little but perhaps I did use too much cotton.

It seems to be working pretty well but I was expecting bigger clouds. My crowntank either outdoes this tank or is about equal. Maybe I should try a dual coil in the standard configuration next time. I'm using this tank on a JT cuboid @33.3w and my build is reading in @.84ohms. Before being wicked and saturated it read @.62-65 on both the meter and mod. I'm not sure if that's common for readings to change that much as I am obviously a newbie to all of this. Any feedback would be very helpful.

Hello MeeGz sorry it took me so long to respond! I have a simple dual coil in there I put my wicks in all 4 holes , it's hell refilling but I trimmed my tails at the base of the coils to thin them out, the i stuck the wicks in, this tank truly is the best Gemini tank I've Ever tried it's killing the haze dropper tank IMHO.

Hmm... The method that was suggested to me seems to be working pretty well. I'm a bit curious as to why the resistance reads lower before wicking and filling. My coil is actually performing pretty well now. At least as good as the Crown, if not better! Maybe I'll try two dual micros or a Clapton in the same configuration that I'm using now. I'm curious; what guage and type of wire are you using and what diameter are you wrapping it at? Are you using Japanese organic cotton? Are you building spaced coils? I'm just curious as it would be more good info to have.

IIRC the vape shop guy said he used 23g kanthal. I'm using 24 though I wouldn't imagine it would make that much of a difference. Maybe once this setup is burnt out I'll try a dual coil, maybe a Clapton or perhaps a simple nickel micro dual setup. I do agree about filling. It's a PITA. A couple of times now I've closed off the airflow and filled it through the driptip. If you have time for it to absorb it's probably OK. Otherwise I don't recommend it. I have seen juice bottles with almost syringe like tips, probably for this very application!

Below I've included a picture of my setup

Been saying this for a while. The avocado is the best rta on the market. Better than the griffin, gemini, insert popular rta here.

I want to believe you. I hope that your taste buds are as snobbish as mine.
Now, if we could get time to speed up 2weeks then I would be able to either discount/uphold said claims....
In the meantime... I will practice ill Patience...

I purchased my Avocado from a stateside warehouse for about $30. If you bought from FT I'm going to guess that you paid $20. Just a guess. As I mentioned before this WAS NOT my idea. I wish it was my idea , a guy at a local vape shop gave it to me (local = 22 miles in this case). The key is to get your right angles properly spaced to line up with your post holes. I just put each end through the top holes instead of doing top an bottom. It seems to be working just fine. Next time I'll probably use just a little less cotton while keeping it just a bit longer.

Believe it or not this is only the second coil that I built for this tank. The first was spaced and it actually arched up a bit, it sucked. This one isn't perfect but it does perform pretty well. The idea of splitting the wick into two on each end to use all of the juice holes was genius. I'm surprised that I haven't seen this wicking method on YouTube yet. It works alot better than the single using only two wick holes and the ceramic baffle. I hardly ever get a dry/burnt hit from this setup.

You sir should get on the Youtube video (make sure to monetize it)
are you a fellow Canadian?

I appreciate that. I suppose I could review the gear that I have and maybe demonstrate a couple of coils that I somewhat know how to do. How could I monetize it though? I'm still a noob! I will admit that I've been trying to jump into this with both feet and I'd love to make how to videos and even do reviews at some point but it seems like there are so many people already doing it.

And no I'm not Canadian. Unfortunately, at times.

well... this is where google comes into play.
I think I found out how to 'monetize' my videos via google searching and then 'activating' the setting (I set mine up 3+ years ago). The videos you sometimes have to click on those ads/commercials is what it is for. You'll get a very very small amount of funds for each click but in this day an age: A penny still carries worth when its stacked up.

Sorry I cannot walk you through the steps.

Either way I appreciate the reply. I have actually wanted to learn how to setup a YT channel for a while. It seems that the high volume channels like IndoorSmokers and RipTrippers for instance must bring in a decent paycheck. These channels at times do however seem like they're selling a product versus providing an actual honest review. But again I've always wondered how one starts out. I presume it's by purchasing products for yourself and reviewing them along with things like coil howtos and the like in the case of vaping. After doing that and gaining a bit of a following I would guess that one would request products for review and, eventually, as the channel grows they begin to show up at your door.

Is that an accurate description of the process?

As to my coil, it may not be a bad idea to make a how to video. I've yet to see a coil building/wicking tutorial that employs this method for the Avocado and I've watched quite a few. It's so simple yet it works so well, never a dry hit if your tank is filled correctly. It's genius! I wish I had thought of it myself and could take all the credit for it!

I'd be interested to hear feedback from anybody that tries this method. I personally love it but I've only ever tried this tank in single coil mode with a baffle installed, never in dual mode or even with a Clapton. That being said a simple micro coil applied a bit differently seems to be doing a great job.

Also, a bit off topic, I was considering getting a standard RDA just for the heck of it. Should I even bother? I like the idea of filling right through the drip tip opening, which I can more or less do with the Avocado, kind of. I would assume, as far as the RDA is concerned, performance would likely be about the same as my Avocado. Is that correct? Lately I've really wanted BIG clouds. Both the Avocado and my Crown give me about 5-7 foot clouds in a fairly small closed off room. Obviously in a larger room with alot of moving air or even outdoors the results are a bit different. I may just be feeding my obsession with gear, gear that I often times don't need. I have a SubTank Plus that literally has MAYBE a total of 10 minutes of use on it as an example. I'm hoping that once my wife quits that she'll use it after she graduates from my Subvod!

1) The process you outlined regarding youtube sounds about right (guessing!!)

2) I am running it on a single coil right now. I actually had forgotten that you shared that nifty little set up! The single coil has been working beautifully on its own.
No dry hit. Period.
I am curious to know if the way you showed would give off more flavor??

3) I own a derringer. Best one in my opinion.
I use it for tasting juices on my mixing days so I don't have to hassle with a tank.

I had tried the Haze dripper (not the tank version) it was a finicky little ....er. Hated it.
In saying that -I am strictly a flavor chaser.
If you have the means to trying out a few things why not?

I love the Avocado 22mm on the sigelei 213w and it's a great match.

Haha, funny to see this. It's what I'm vaping on right now. Imo...the Avocado 22 is by far the best flavor out of all the RDTA's. It's a pain to fill, but the flavor is unmatched. The larger 24 doesn't quite match it in flavor as with the Limitless. I've modified a unicorn bottle with a stainless steel tip and it's a breeze to fill now.
