I’m using Coilology wire. 2-26/36, ni80. Spaced coil in Zeus.

Using same brand Coilogy wire ni80, 24/36, I noticed a big flavor difference in my personal experience. Spaced coil in Zeus.

With my Ijoy limitless RDTA, using only high grade Kanthal wire. I saw almost no difference between 6, 8 or 10 wrap spaced coil. I haven’t had a chance to test the ni80 wire on RDTA, because I sold the RDTA.

At the end of the day it’s subjective. How you wick it, can and will make a difference.

You might love same bowl of chilly but I might not enjoy it a much as you do.
You have to find, “your bowl of chili”, figure out what you like.

I love experimenting because I love a good challenge. And in my limited experience, Zeus has given me a challenge like no other in a long time.

I believe, I can further tweak here and there to get the most out of Zeus, even though I think I have reached the end. Only time will tell, so stay tuned.
Keep us updated ;) I enjoy learning from your journey:thumbs:

Thank you.

I love sharing my experience when people love to listen and learn from my experience.

I might try a 7 wrap spaced coil just for the fun of it but, I might be pushing it. A 6wrap fused Clapton spaced coil is already a tight fit on a small Zeus deck.
I should have time tomorrow to give it a go with 7 wraps. Will post pics even if it’s a failure.

P..s.

I want to test out a 4mm coil but don’t have the tool/s to make a 4mm coil. Time to take a road trip to Home Depot.

WARNING! This doesn't belong just in this thread but I am sticking it here since this seems to be the place we have talked most about Ni80 wire. I made several coils today (Dual Parallel Fused Clapton wire 24/34ga.) One was 3mm and one was 3.5mm (I also made a 4mm that I haven't installed in anything yet.) I installed the 3mm coil in the Zeus and used a little wire brush to comb out hot spots. Once I put the tank together and tried vaping, the resistance was jumping around and it finally gave me the dreaded "atomizer connection" message. I tried a number of fixes and nothing worked. Finally, I examined the coil and noticed that the covering was off the wire in a tiny spot on one coil turn. I repeated the experiment with the 3.5mm coil and had the exact same thing happen. I was about to send a nasty message to Lightning Vapes about the quality of the wire when it dawned on me that it was probably the too vigorous use of the wire brush that broke through the outer wire on the coil. The process took a couple of hours and I am glad I finally figured it out. I successfully installed a coil in the Zeus (my newest one) and am vaping juice I made with Nic Salts The jury is still out on the Nic Salts but I wanted to warn about using the wire brushes too vigorously. Sometimes, at least for me, getting the hot spots out of the Ni80 wire is harder than it is for SS. Just use the wire brush judiciously, especially on fused Clapton wire.

Mr. Salty Man, Kacti Cooler is great.
I have over brushed my coils before and have had the same outcome.

Patience Pam. Did you order the gold mods yet?

Nope, I am going to hold off on the Gold Relic Minikin V2. It is a brand new color and the price will come down. After buying the bargain Lost Vape Therion (and three additional battery doors because I wanted to make sure I could get them,) I decided to wait on other mods. I did buy my son a replacement for his Battlestar because everyone needs a backup. It is the Bronze Blue (no bronze in it but that is what they call it.) It is a fairly dark blue with a black battery door, so will look great with black tanks. He doesn't love it since he loses his copper Battlestar constantly and thinks the darker one will be harder to locate. LOL Maybe I need to get those locater tiles for him.

I am glad to know I am not the only one. ;) I haven't seen people talk about that much and those wire brushes can hurt my fingers, so imagine they can be unkind to coils.

What if you spaced the coils slightly? Then there wouldn’t be hot spots. I got the NI80 Fused 26g x 36g Clapton from Lightning Vapes & I slightly spaced the coils, they glowed nicely at a very low wattage when pulsed slightly.

3mm ID Spaced SS316L Triple Core Fused Clapton @ 0.29 ohms. The coil is raised, so that the center of the coil is inline with the top air holes in the post. Vaping at 43 watts, this setup for me, the flavor is on par to my Drop RDA.

Sometimes I space them slightly, sometimes not. The 3rd try yesterday glowed beautifully from the inside out after some light strumming with the porcelain tweezers.

Gaia did arrive. I do like it. Shorter and heavier than my Therion, same width tho. Specs are 80mm x 57.8mm x 25mm. Had it for a couple days and love the looks and enjoy using it. It is a stay home mod right now because it does sweat. Have the Fireluke on it now, silver Zeus will be paired with it when I get around to changing the coil.
Is it comfortable to hold? I measured it against my Hotcig R150 87mm x 52mm x 24mm so the Gaia is definitely wider. Uhmmm... i really want to get one but my hands are on the smaller size I guess & it would be a bummer if it was uncomfortable to hold.

It's comfortable for me Heart. It fits exactly in my palm from the inside of my thumb to the base of my fingers, so plenty of grip room. The one thing I wish they hadn't done is put the 510 over the fire button. I fire with my index or middle finger and prop bottom of the mod with my pinky finger. Makes it heavy on the poor little pinky. Not a vaping dog walking mod for me. I do enjoy the mod and it will stay in rotation but I won't be buying another. Honestly when I get another Therion I'll probably put it on a shelf. I do recommend the Gaia tho, sturdy and lovely.

I guess for you its comfortable to hold but its the weight? That makes you like it but not love it?

Which Therion do you have/will get?

I actually like the weight of the Gaia just not where they put the 510. It doesn't lean into my hand the way my other mods do. Doesn’t tip, but not seated either. Hope that makes sense.
I have the Therion 133 and 166. Love both and will get one of those again. I don't really care which. Not interested in the DNAc chip, from what I've read is uses battery life for features I don't care about using and wouldn't miss.

My Therion came today and I have been playing with it. It will take me a few days to decide if I love it or not. The sticker covering the battery door is not completely smooth and that is one thing that YT reviewers complained about. It isn't quite as comfortable to me as my Minikin V2 to hold but maybe I just need to get used to it.

There is an Escribe for Mac now, so that made it easier to set it up and do the updates. I also put a pretty rainbow theme on the screen because, well, rainbows. :)
