General Differences Between e-cigs and e-cigars?

What's the primary difference between the cigarettes and cigars? Is battery/filter life better with the cigars? Are they harder to "draw on" in general? Do they taste different if the same liquid is used? I'm a cigarette smoker, but I'm leaning towards buying a cigar because I'd assume the battery and filters would last a bit longer (I smoke about a pack a day and would like to leave charger and such at home).

I know that I haven't mentioned a specific product so my questions are vague, but any feedback you can provide on the general experience is appreciated.

For the e-cigarettes, all are using proprietary batteries.
E-cigars using those AAA size(3.6V) batteries which can be replaced.

The cigar cartridges are bigger, so contain more juice, so will last longer.

But I think the e-cigarettes will produce more smoke. The solution for both are difference.

I have a mini cig, cigar and pipe. I prefer them in this order: the cigar, pipe, cigarette.

The e-cigar has a larger battery that recharges. It does not use Triple A batteries, but a proprietary battery. So does the cig and pipe. The charge in the cigar lasts at least one day. Not so for the cig. The pipe lasts several days before recharging is needed.

The pipe holds the most liquid, but is hard to drip smoke. It doesn't produce a lot of vapor. The cigar is easy to drip smoke and produces lots of vapor that way. The cigarette just doesn't work at all -- it doesn't even function -- when dripped.

Here's the biggie: The cigar is easiest to handle. The cig is tiny and slick and easy to drop. The pipe is big and heavy and difficult to tote around. The cigar is the perfect size to grip and smoke.

My vote is strongly for an e-cigar.

That does it then, I'm going with a cigar. I was leaning towards a cigar anyway, but better battery life and smokability pretty much cinch it for me.

To top it off, it seems like it's going to be easier to get replacement batteries for the cigars than the cigs and the majority of cores are interchangable as well.

Thanks for the input.

TB do you still feel the same about your ecigar?
It's been on my mind to ask about this for awhile now. Do ecigars produce more vapor and last longer because they are larger? I was thinking if I ever had to order another ecig device I might try the cigar.

Cindy: There's been a slight shift in my mind. The big thing that changed is my experience with a pen style e-cig from Metrex's site. That thing produced huge amounts of vapor (RatinDaHat's video) and I loved it -- for a week. Then the atomizer died (no experiments with that one, either, just E-Liquid).

The e-cigar was a cheapie from DealExtreme, but darned if the thing just doesn't keep on working well. I've used it daily for more than four months. It has fallen twice to a paved road while walking my dog. Nothing has been replaced. I charge one battery at all times; keep all cartridges topped off with liquid. It has never produced large amounts of vapor, but at least the vapor is visible (important to ex-smokers). I should also note that this is the device I experiment with -- it's digested everything from home-brew with glycerine to food coloring liquid to vanilla extract flavoring. Ummm. I'm licking and it keeps ticking ..

In summary, dollar-for-dollar that's the best e-money I've ever spent. But I still think buying any device or brand is a gamble. They all have failures mixed in with happy user accounts. I do love the feel of the e-cigar, by the way. Best of all devices. It just doesn't fumble as easily. I only wish for more vapor.

E-Pipe (2008-2008) died two days ago and services are now complete. My mini cig never worked well but I've had to bring it out of storage and start using it again. As usual, I get itty-bitty wisps of vapor from it. I have a new atomizer enroute from Meltrex, so I should be back to quality e-smoking before long. My ranking now would be: pen style e-cig when it was working well, cigar, pipe and mini cig. May the last two rest in peace.

you cant pass judgment on one device from any maker.. thye vary too much..

i have some dse901 type minis (the longer ones) that produce tons of smoke with new-ish atomizer fresh batteries and wet cartridge..

i have some e-cig minis that produce very little smoke and are pretty useless except for those who dont want much smoke.. such people do exist..

i have some e-cig cigar/cigarillos both use AAA batteries.. both produce lots of smoke with new-ish atomizer fresh batteries and wet cartridge.. cheapest to buy and use.. the cigarillo uses classic carts.. the cigar odd ones..

i now have some e-cig pipes.. again lots of smoke with with new-ish atomizer fresh batteries and wet cartridge..

one thing seems clear bigger dosnt always mean more smoke.. some minis will produce lots of smoke but need toppoing up quite often.. once an hour for best results.. they will cost more to run as well..

bigger at best means last longer and run for longer between top ups or cart changes..

cheapest out of the lot.. the e-cig cigarillos.. a new one (buying spares) costs about 10 dollars with a battery.. a cigarillo is very similar to the classic e cig early type.. just simpler and cheaper.. less to go wrong and cheap replacement parts..

i hate real cigars, they make me want to puke and give me a headache...but i bought an e-cigar anyway, with genuine ruyan cartridges(the cigar wasnt ruyan,it was a cheapie off ebay).i thought it wouldnt taste like a real cigar, just like a ecig.how wrong i was!those ruyan cartridges are pretty realistic, they taste very like a real one to me,and the atomiser was soaked in factory cigar juice.anyway, cos i hate cigars i couldnt smoke it-so i made my flatmate drysmoke it,i put eliquid on it occasionally(im putting the cartridges on ebay i think).it took over a week to get rid of the cigar taste.now i just drysmoke it with regular eliquid.its a good device, and i like holding it-you can curl your finger round it,and gesture with it-it feels good somehow, kinda solid.the thing is,the draw is heavier than my penstyles and minis.you can puff on it and get good vapour, but if you inhale the vapour very little comes out of your mouth.i use it mainly when my other cigs are playing up,or i just want a to puff some "smoke".its a good additional device to have, but if you have a good penstyle or mini, you might just use it for backup, and not your main device.of course, like trog said, these devices are kinda individual in the way they work, you might get one you really like-mine was cheap and cheerful.i hear good things about the ruyan with the chinese symbols on it on other boards.personally i think i'll wait and see what the kisscigarillo is like before buying another cigarillo or cigar.

the cigars dont hold much more than the classic cigarette or cigarillos..

the e-cig cigarillos make sense they take the classic cigarette carts.. they use the same (cheap) off the shelf AAA 350 mah battery as the cigar does..

i like the cigarillos.. but have just had three out of four atomizers fail within a few hours of use.. so far i am putting it down to bad luck.. i have just ordered three more and suggested they bung a couple of free ones in to compensate... he he

i cant be arsed to ship cheap parts back to china.. i will let u know if they give me anything "extra".. just to keep me happy..
