General Newbie Questions

Hi! My name is Dan and I've been a smoker for the past 5 years of my life, and before I ask any questions I must give my thanks to the founder(s) and members of this forum. I've only recently discovered this wonderful place, but it has already proved to be a fantastic resource!
About two weeks ago I decided I was going to join the ranks of those who own an E-cig, as one of my close friends purchased a starter kit a short while ago (I can't quite seem to recall the brand, however...) I decided that I wasn't ready to commit to spending a fair chunk of change on a starter kit without trying something for myself first, so I did some limited (very limited) research, and purchased a No. 7 Disposable 500. I was thrilled with the taste and the concept (I found myself trying to ash it numerous times), but unsatisfied with the life of the unit (500 puffs my ***, and through some reading I gathered that I should never purchase one of their products again)

Anyway, through the limited experience with the No. 7 Disposable, and from the times I've used my friends model, I've decided that I'd like to purchase the real deal, and am looking for any advice on an affordable, solid model! Thanks! :)

Welcom to the Forum and the vaping world. I've been smoke free for 2 months now and never looked back. I read the forum for days and decided to go with an E-go from Janty (Better Warranty) and found that I made the right choice. It gives you excellent service and you have the best of all worlds, carts, tanks and dripping. I recommend going with a 900mah battery or better and it will last all day. Now just find a juice to start with and your good to go! now the fun starts, there are tons of reviews on juices and suppliers, Cheers!

Hey Dan, I'm completely new to this thing as well. I researched for about two days on this site, asked some questions, and went with the manual battery package at Vapor4Life. I've been a smoker for 17 years, tried every method to quitting, with jack for success. I got my ecig on Thursday night, started using on Friday, and haven't had any desire to have a regular ciggarette since. It's actually pretty amazing.

The one I bought is called the 808 something or other. The more technical members of the forum can give you the details, I'm not really up on all the specifics. But I can tell you, as someone who is about as new to this as they get, I like the product. It's easy to use, and I'm comepletely satisfied with my purchase.

Just listen to the people on this forum, and ask as many questions as you can. Everyone was really helpful in explaining the pros and cons of the different products. I'm not much help there, but I can tell you that whichever model you go with, you're most likely gonna be done smoking analogs. I am.

Common recommendations for the beginning vaper.

Cigarette diameter (9mm);
Joye 510 roughly 1-3 hr battery charge life
KR808d-1
Vaporking, Bloog MaxXFusion roughly 2-6 hr battery charge life (cartomizer only)

Big battery (14-18mm dia)
510 eGo or clone Riva, Tornado, etc. roughly 5-10 hr battery charge life
GoGo roughly 10-15 hr battery charge life (cartomizer only... as far as I am aware)

There are far more options but most of them are more for those who are sure they like vaping all of these models except the GoGo can be found in started kits for less than $50

Once you are sure you like vaping then you can move into other types of atty styles and box mods which can vary voltage and have battery charge life of days in some models. And get into the real spending!:p
