I agree with all the other post. Disposables are good try to see if you like or in a emergency but longer term get a recharchable kit. The Volts are what my mom uses but the use tine is very short. I personally use the Ego Twist and once you get use to pyffing on a marker sized device it is a great starter. It last me most of the day and I have 3 of them to rotate with. Vthey have a 510 connection so you can use a variety of different delivery systems. But whatever you do choose what works for you and what you like. That is what will give you the most success. Good luck and welcometo ECF!

I started with a small battery kit and although I love the realistic size, it looks like a cig, it doesn't last long at all and doen't deliver a hit that can keep me off the stinky's long term. I quit smoking the day I got the small battery kit, however I knew it wasn't going to work long term so I bought an ego kit 650mah. I am so glad I did. I will take my small cig sized ecigs when I go out but when I am at home I only vape the ego with a clearomizer...this way I only have to charge it once a day or day and a half and I have juice all the time and don't have to refill often.

I smoked very little in reality, about 4 cigs a day but I have felt many differences in how I feel, my voice has changed, I never cough anymore and I can take much deeper breathes. I have been stinky free for a month and a half. A real diff. in a short amount of time.

I was able to quit analog cigs the day I got my ecig but I have made having everything I need in order to follow through and not smoke again, there is a big learning curve, I have found but it is SO WORTH IT! If you want the small realistic small battery that looks like a traditional cig, get it but also spend the money and get an ego with some cartomizers, clearomizers ( I like the ce3's from GotVapes) and some juice. You will want them even if you don't know it yet.

Wishing you the very best on this adventure, it is well worth it. You will feel the difference right away.

First Tommy_37,
Brand of E-Cig - important, but not that important in the beginning. E-go is popular (has Ego threads), Smokless Image Volt also popular has KR808D-1 threads (inexpensive adaptors allow you to interchange cartomizers, tanks etc). I started with the Volt Kit and added to it with larger batteries like the X2 from Smokless Image. That is not to disparage the E-go which many like also. If you then enjoy vaping as you probably will you can plan your next purchase up to a Variable Voltage device or the the ProVari which many consider to be one of the best (also very expensive). I recommend a kit at first because it comes with everything you will need including charger etc. OK forgot your health question. All I can say is that I had my semi-annual Dr. visit yesterday and when I told my Dr. that I had quit smoking and was using a personal vaporizer, she put me down as a non smoker and congratulated me. No comments what so ever on not using a vaporizer to replace cigarettes. I guess that says something.

Will19,

It is OK to charge your battery whenever you choose. I have heard that charging prior to letting it go to empty is actually better. Batteries claim up to 300 charge cycles. If you charge it before it goes to empty, it will increase the number of times you can charge it.

Throat itch, sore throat, dry mouth, ulcers and a few other nasty problems may occur. Read up on the forums on vaping effects when first starting. Mine tended to be mild and went away in a few days. Drink pleanty of fluids especially water when you vape. Throat hit comes mainly from the nicotine level. I started at 24 and it was way to harsh. Gave me a sore throat. I went all the way down to 6 mg nic and found that was too low, so now I am at 12 mg nic and it is just right. You need to find a level where throat hit is satisfactory, but not too harsh. Some people can't tolerate PG which gives better flavor I am told. VG gives more vapor, so 50/50 seems a fair trade off. That is the blend I use. Best of Luck.
