So, I've been hanging around for a couple of months. I'm a "lurker" of sorts. I don't post much but I feel it's time to come out of the smoke screen (or vapor) to introduce myself. I've been vaping for a little over 2 months. I've shelled out a lot more money than I have on Cigarrettes, and I do not regret it. My goal is to find the best combination for me, and through my experimentations, find products I trust for my family and friends who are smokers.
The ECF has been a great resource for me! Plenty of opinions, and the community is downright amazing. I've thought to myself that you'd never find something like this for cigarrettes, and that still holds true.
So, about me... I've been a 2 pack a week smoker for about 3 and a half years (doesn't seem like a lot compared to a lot of other ex-smokers on here). As odd as it may have sound, I started because I told myself "How hard is it to really quit?" I enjoyed the nicotine high I felt, and kept smoking, while limiting myself to the amount I smoked per day... starting with 3
Eventually I got up to 6... 7.... 8... and realized that it's time I admit I'm addicted, and try to stop.
3 days of confinement and no work, and I had done it! Then I went out to a couple of bars... saw people smoking... and bummed some cigarrettes. Alcohol and nicotine! What JOY! The quitting I thought I had achieved was merely a sham... My willpower, not as strong as I had thought, led to me buying my own pack for the next time I went out, so that I wouldn't have to be "that guy" and bum cigarrettes... I started smoking them on my break. "I have them, might as well smoke them, the sooner I finish, the sooner I won't have to worry about them staring at me asking me to smoke!" Again, I was wrong. Pack after pack.
It was at this pointed I decided there had to be better out there. I had a buddy who was using cheap 510's from a local vendor, and he enjoyed those well enough. So I decided to try e-cigs. I researched (with google) and it led me to the Blu Cigs, and I fell for the appeal! I mean, those are sweet looking batteries, and the case, such a neat idea! So there went $100, and I enjoyed the flavor. The battery life was awful! That, and the auto shut off, led me to believe I needed a more consistent device. It didn't satisfy, so I did more research.
I eventually came upon the ECF. ECF was something I noticed in searching for E-Cigs, but I never gave it a second look. A forum for e-cig users? How many could there possibly be.... I immediately dived right in to all of the lingo. So many terms, so many things that didn't make sense. What was I to do? I stuck with it. The forums were so easy to navigate, so easy to find what I needed to know. I stumbled upon a juice review and thought it was hilarious! The guy doing the review was likable, knowledgeable, and had a way of being trustworthy. So I checked out more videos on youtube, and found out there was a website. I went there and found more information, and stumbled upon the recommendation of the Kgo. I ordered the Kgo, with much excitement, and some of the recommended Boge cartos.
My vaping world had gone on a thrill ride. New things, new ideas, and much more information than the media would want you to know! So here I am. 2 KGo batteries, an eGo Twist, kGo VV, and a Vivi Nova with smok TiTan, and I feel it's time to make myself active to a wonderful community. I look forward to interacting with others, and getting to know new vapers and new vapers alike. It's a strong community here, and it's something I will be proud to say I'm apart of (even if minor
)
tldr; My name is Chad, and I'm a new vapor. I'm thankful of the information here and hope to use it to introduce old smokers to a new way of living. To the future! And to new technology, and to a brighter outcome (as long as some negative side effects don't show up 10 years down the line...)
