So I've tried a few different e cigs and after my latest issues, my blu keeps on trucking. And I realize I'm probably the only person on here that values taste over throat hit, but are there any GOOD suppliers for the l88b? I believe that is the battery for a blu or volcano?

I've seen many companies simply re brand existing e cigs, like the 510 becomes the titan, magma, and cloud nine, and the 4081(?) becomes the smoking... gold, ss, etc... So who is the original manufacturer for what becomes the blu and volcano? And how do I get some without going through some very entrepreneurial companies? Am I a cheapskate for knowing a sales pitch when I hear one?

Rebranding IS confusing. Can't blame the entrepreneur for trying to get people to only purchase their e-cig gear from them (I suppose...) However, we can figure out compatible models and make better purchases! I'm big on saving a buck when ever possible (a girl needs new shoes and a few new mods ya know! ;))!

Blu and Volcano are indeed the same model (L88b). The L88b is made by the Shenzhen Jieshibao Technology Co. Atomizer Series | Shenzhen Jieshibao Technology Co., Ltd (Hongkong JSB e-cigarette Co., Ltd)

Specifications: 88mm long, 8.5mm dia, 10g weight. 60-80 puffs per cart (*HA HA*), 90 mAh battery at 3.3 t 4.2 volts.

Problem is, nobody carries the L88b! A list from Wiki has the following as being 510 compatible (which should all work together):
Joye 306
Blu
Dura/eGo
Titan/Tornado
Yeti
KR808A
KR808B
Sidesho
Volcano
Vapor King
Luci

Honestly? The L88b is hard to find and can be expensive if you do. Go with 510 gear to replace parts and gently slide over to the dark side. :) It is a great model with great vapor and reliable atomizer and it is easy to find good deals and replacement parts when you need them quickly.

You can also replace the L88b atomizer with a Joye 306 atomizer which is raved about as a replacement with people (reporting greater vapor). RockyMountainVapor.com has them.

If you decide to purchase a different compatible atomizer, be sure to also buy some new blank cartridges as you won't be able to use the carts from the Blu on them!

L88b batteries are VERY sensitive as they use a microphone style activation. The 510/sidesho manual batteries are great as they are button activated and fit the blu atty perfectly. They are a bit longer but it will end wonky automatic fire-offs in noisy places of the L88b, plus manual batteries are the way to go anyway especially if you plan on filling cartridges yourself or dripping since they are sealed from liquid getting inside of them so will last longer.

Be aware you CANNOT charge the 510 atties using the PCC with the Blu, you will damage the PCC and the batteries and will be SOL . If you buy 510 manual batteries, get a charger (and or 510 PCC). Of course you also can use the Mega 510 battery (4 hours of use off a single charge, but are very long) which are available from several suppliers (again, get a charger). At this time, there isn't a PCC for those that I'm aware of.

Don't forget that you can also use a 510 passthrough with your Blu atomizers! This one is pretty awesome as it also detaches to give you a charged and cord free battery when out and about. 510 Sit and Go USB Passthrough

Another option is to watch the forum Classified area for people selling off Blu/Volcano gear (or you can post a Want Ad) http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/classifieds-swaps/ I love it when I find a good deal there!

More info on the L88B model info, tips and tricks can be found from other Blu/L88b users at Blu Electronic Cigarettes - E-Cigarette Forum

If you like the super-mini (i.e., analog cigarette-sized models like the blu), do investigate the Joye 306, e.g., in ECF's Joye 306 Model Specific Discussion forum. [BTW, although the 306 is different from the 510, the parts are interchangeable.]

The 306 is more 100s size. If you want something closer to a king-size cigarette (such as the blu), check out the Joye 306a (same atomizer, shorter battery), e.g., from Happy Vaper. And you can even charge the 306a battery in a 510 PCC ... by putting a cart endcap on top of the battery before closing the PCC's lid. [Tip courtesy of Jack, Happy Vaper's proprietor).]

As Hellen indicated, there are many satisfied Joye 306 users. The main downside (to any super-mini) is very frequent battery charging: puff, recharge, puff, recharge. [Well, maybe not quite that bad.;)] For example, the 510 battery is 180 mAh (not one of the higher capacity batts); the 306a battery is only 90 mAh – half that. [Compare that to the 650 mAh eGO or the 900 mAh mega eGO.] But you must be used to that with the blu, so no surprises there.
