Genesis atomizer troubles - Please help me

I bought a genesis atomizer yesterday, I watched a youtube vid on how to setup wick nd fix hot spots. I was almost sure I had done it right all the coils glowed evenly when pressing it dry. So I put juice on it nd burned it with the tank empty a few times and then filled her up. took a hit and it tasted like a burnt clearomizer, ive tried wiggling the wick adjusting the coils. I don't know if the coils are on too loose, if I burnt out the wick completely(if that's possible) or what the deal is. Please let me know what it could be. is there any way I could clean the wick? then try re-wrapping coils. Im new to this and was really excited to rip this tank hard but if I did that now id probably get lung cancer instantly.

. The Atomizer is the AGA T2
.Stainless Steel mesh wick <<<<<<<<< Using coil and mesh it came with>>>>>>>>>>>>
.Stainless steel coil
, Im using a vision spinner on about 3.8-4.2, and I rolled it then torched till glowing then covered in liquid lit that on fire till it burnt out, did that 3 times with a final torch till glow

now if everything is working properly, and you do not see any hot spots, you are not running the voltage too high or too low for the coil you have there is one other option of what the issue could be, the juice, I love genni and use them all the time, but a lot of juices taste down right nasty in them

Well I wrapped it 4 times I don't know what ohms that is, as for the wire it was just a plain steel wire it came with, ill look it up to see what type of wire it came to

As for not using it with a Ego or Genny, is it going to mess up my Spinner? I also have a woo 5v mod its ego style but I got 16350's in it so I don't think it is technically an ego one.

Kinda sounds like you might have a hot spot still. I'd do a new wrap. Use the pulse method to make sure you get an even glow, and keep doing it for a while. It will help to oxidize your wick under the coils even better. Just a couple of seconds each pulse. Then prime your wick and coils a little and give it a test fire. You'll smell it if it burns your juice. If its all good then go ahead and fill your tank.

Yes, it can fry your spinner if not careful, any ego battery is not designed for the stress of spikes, hot spots, shorts or the like, all of which WILL happen at some point using a genny. I don't know anything about your woo 5v, but I personally don't like to see anyone run a genny on anything less than an 18490, the specs on even the 18350 can be pushing it if you get a short.

Please tho before you do much with the aga-t get a multi meter.

Some additional info

Lower the wire gauge = thicker the wire = lower resistance over a given piece of wire.
Higher the wire gauge = thinner the wire = higher resistance over a given piece or wire.
On a mechanical device: 28 gauge, 3 or 4 wraps, around a 1 Ohm coil.
On a regulated device: 32 gauge, 4 or 5 wraps, around a 1.5 Ohm coil.
Try lower density mesh (Ex: 200, 270, 325) for thicker e-liquids.
Try higher density mesh (Ex: 400, 500, 635) for thinner e-liquids.
Those suggestions could certainly change as I learn and grow more with mechs.

You should never put an Rebuildable on a battery without checking it on a meter. NEVER! Maybe some veterans may be able to know what the ohms are before they put it on, but as a newbie, you could have shorts. Get a multimeter or one of those ohm readers at Madvapes. Some mods will tell you the ohms of your atomizer as well. Get something before you even try this again.

ok I like Phil, but he has the info on the mesh wrong, the reason people will say use 200 mesh with high vg juices is it seems to give a bit more of a th than the 400 + meshes do, the most important thing about which mesh to use, and this originally came from Mike (Zen) the 316 ss is better than the 304

Thank you everybody for helpin me understand what I need to know about this vaping rocket science crap haha. I finally got it to work on a dream. What I did was take the wick out thoroughly glow it with my torch, then I took a new coil wire and wrapped it three times around the wick but it was still hotspotting. that's when I noticed the what tough guitar said and the distance between the wick and the centerpost was causing it so I just made it almost touch the centerpost and bam hits like a dream even at like 3.7V. I know ill have to look more into ohms and what not but for now I just have it on a ....ty vision spinner so I don't mind really. I appreciate all the help.
