Ive been using a Phoenix style RBA and love it. I decided to buy a Genesis because of all the good things Ive heard about them and try it.

1st off, I took it apart to get into the tank. bad mistake..... I ripped the seal at the 510 connection :( I was able to put it back together and its not leaking but now when I use thumb screw (positive post) the whole post turns which is a real pain but still workable. Which makes me wonder how people clean the tank?

2nd, I can't seem to get the juice to come up through the SS mesh. I've watch plenty of video's on building these and everything seems to be perfect. about 2.5ohms and after adjustments my coil is burning evenly thru out but when I take a drag it chokes me... major dry hit. Its like its not priming up thru the SS wick.

Any help with this priming problem would be appreciated.

if it still has the fill screw in it try removing that, also how is your wick rolled ? solid, strawlike ? what kind of mesh are you running ?

with the torn seal you may want to watch for any shorting at the connector, cleaning mine i usually take off the 3 thumbscrews and then unscrew the top piece from the rest of it and then take the rest apart, havent had any problems with it.

I am still pretty new at Gen style RBA's myself, but unless my tank is full or at least 3/4, my wicks never work when chain vaping. I always have to tilt the device to get it to wick. I have read and heard people boast that they can make their wicks pull the ejuice when the tank is practically dry, vertically. When I have observed these same people, they are always tilting. I personally don't buy into it. IMO, tilting just comes with the territory.

Maybe one day when I get super duper at making wicks, this will no longer be an issue. At the moment though, I just see it happening.

A few things that can help though:

Make a hollow wick. Put a paperclip in the wick as you roll it. This can help the capillary action.

Remove any fill screws. This can help air flow inside the tank which too can help it wick.

Nothing more specific to add from me than has been already been said. I will include this video demonstration which helped me more than anything to get started. It is wonderfully done by Zen for Provape and his ZAP for the Provari. The methodology is the same for all Genesis style rba's. Perhaps you will see something that you missed along the way.

My wicks seem to work better after a few hours of using them, I think they need some break in time.

Also, you check to make sure you aren't shorting when you add liquid? Took me a few tries to realize that for some reason my coils would be perfect dry, but would need a little adjusting after they got wet. Not sure what's up with that but happens almost every time I put a new coil on.

I've read (though not had any experience yet) 325 wicks thicker ejuices better than 400. Something to do with the mesh weave not being as tightly woven. It took me MANY hours to get my wicks and coils to cooperate to the point I am at now; and where I am at now is pretty darn low.

Trial and error are really the best teachers in this situation. If one wick is that bad, make another and see how it works.
