So, I have this AGA T2 that I have despised since I got it. I just watched a couple of videos on 'Auto Dripper Mode' and wanted other opinions before I take time to build it and try myself.

I have tired mesh, cotton yarn and cotton balls. I have tried micro coils, regular 4/5 wide wrap and even dual coils, I just can't seem to get it wicking right, and if I do, the flavor is muted. My real question is:

Auto dripping looks to be not very different from just wicking it with cotton... what's the deal? Does it saturate the wick more? Less? Is there an advantage to the 'on demand' wicking like this??? Is it worth the effort and materials to fiddle with it again??

Not sure what video you're referring to but I generally build my RSST in dripper mode. Which basically involves taking the excess cotton wick from the top of the coil and wrapping it down around the back of the coil.

With my dual coils I end up weaving the excess wick all over the place just to have a nice bed on top of the wick hole...
