i have heard alot of discussions on the tilting of a genny, like those who vape vertical. is this angle for comparisons or do some people actually vape this way? doesnt a 45 degree angle seems more natural, if anything, towards horizontal rather than vertical. i think a proper wick can wick vertical but it would be a pain in the neck.

I don't think most would ever naturally vape vertically, but personally I like to build my wicks so they CAN vape vertically so I will never be forced to do some dumb tilt just to get a correct hit. I feel that a setup that requires a near/over horizontal tilt/pour simply means that the wick is not wicking correctly.

But that's just me

thats what i thought, just for comparisons, wicking issues aside, i think most dont vape vertical.

I didn't smoke cigarettes or cigars vertical. It just seems like a natural movement for me to grab my pv, and swing it up toward my mouth, with the pv at, or near horizontal. The one thing I'm conscious of is having the air hole and wick at the bottom. Not as much for wicking, but because I usually leave the fill screw out.

To me, a genny tilt is anything past horizontal. Most people seem who say that they tilt are mentioning the 2 o'clock position. I generally don't vape past a flat, horizontal position (like Rule said, pretty much where it feels natural, coming from an ex-smoker). I also generally keep the wick facing down, out of habit.

Lately I have been making these slim wicks...around 2mm in thickness....I have been getting a lot more flavorful and warmer vape with them. Naturally I tilt above 45 Degrees and below 90 degrees....so I haven't had an issue with wicking. But if I tried to vape with them at a vertical position I am sure that I would get dry hits....but who vapes at vertical position?....that would be odd.

thats what i have thought, i know i have heard of a vertical position from a wicking stand point but wondered if anyone actually vaped vertical. it just would be strange that way, you would be walking into walls or driving off the road. so when some say that their device can vape vertical, its irrelvant if your not vaping it that way.

38.6 degrees for me. Actually I'm the wick KING !! I really don't pay attention how I tilt it. I do know that I don't need to use gravity to get good hits.

38.6 degrees, sounds like you pay alot of attension to the tilt. kidding asides, i am just saying that i have no idea how my device wicks vertical because i dont vape it that way, so it doesnt matter, to me its just wasted information

Being able to vape from vertical is only for a measure of wicking ability, I vape somewhere between 45º and 60º.

I always test my new wicks, by holding the fire button. In the vertical position. If I don't get glowing coils in 15 seconds, it's good to go.
