Hi all,

Currently using 2 EGO-T battery, with no problem. Charging and usage is normal, no problem whatsoever.

But one of the battery contact point have some rusty brownish residue (left side on the picture). Trying to clean it but it wont come off.

May i know what is the residue and will there be any problem in the future? What caused it really?

That can't be good...

Personally, if it won't clean off with a bit of alcohol and a cotton swab, I'd discontinue use...and dispose of it properly...but maybe someone else has had this happen before...

But if the plating is coming off it could be an electrical issue of some sort...looking in your charger as well might be a good idea...

As Screwbag said, it might just be the plating has come off.

Plating, usually Chrome, is put on top of brass or copper which aids in bonding, so if the coloring is goldish it could be just the Chrome plating is gone. Electrically it should still be just fine, though the brass or copper coating is rather thin and might wear off down to the base metal soon.

I was just meaning like an electrolytic (right word?) reaction. Which may indicate a problem. It could also just be a bad plating job and it simply flaked off...just keep an eye on it for any further issues...
