I got my ego-t kit about a month ago and today I try putting a fresh boge LR cartomizer on there as the one I was using seemed kind of spent after 2 weeks. As soon as I put the fresh carto on there I went to fire it and immediatley notice a nasty burnt taste in my mouth which I never experienced with the boge right out of the box yet... Maybe after a couple weeks of heavy usage.

So after I fire it and take a vape and get the burnt taste I go to smell the carto to see if it smells burnt as well and the ego-t battery just starts firing the carto all by itself with the LED blinking like crazy and started to get really hot to the point where I could barely hold it. So I got the carto off as quick as I could the battery at this point has cooled off but there is this terrible burnt electronic smell coming from the top of it. It won't charge - won't activate the LED. It does fire though if I put a cartridge on it but it fires automatically at what seems to be a really low voltage. I tried the 5-click and 10-click reset but nothings working. Is there any hope in saving this battery? And is this normal to expect an ego-t battery to die after a month ?

To me, it sounds like liquid got inside there and the pc board inside is fried. Did you have any leaking carto accidents or anything else that might have resulted in liquids getting inside around the battery button? This has come up recently with one another carto user who now has a "sticky" acting button on an eGo battery.

There is sometimes a little residue I see on the battery when I switch out carto's.. I clean it off though every time I see it when I switch out carto's... But I honestly wouldn't think the little amount on there usually not even a drop could get down there. That may be it though.. maybe the new carto leaked down there. What I usually try to do to prevent it though is blow the carto a few times on both sides to get any residue out of the air tube / bottom of the carto.

Something is definitely fried in there though if I even put my nose up to the end of the battery and can smell what seems like a burnt solder connection.

Ahh well luckily I just ordered a replacement battery a few days ago so that will hold me off while I can save up for something like a rough-stack or silver bullet that I've been wanting.

If it's a manual battery it would be more a matter of stuff getting in around the battery button. Does the button still act normal when you press it? Or does it feel like something sticky is happening? You should have a clear tactile feel when you push and release, and hear a soft click when you push and release.

There is a possibility that this was a defective battery. Have you checked your supplier's warranty length and policy? I would at least run it by the place to see if they will do an exchange.
