Hello!
I'm new here and I'm slowly starting to glean knowledge from the chat thread and other sources and am beginning to get people sorted out, but coming from the point of view of an outsider, it can be a bit confusing.

For instance:
I now know that zbasspro is 2 different people on one account.
My initial impression of "wow, these people have their whole family on this forum" was not exactly correct... ;)

So if you guys will humor me, post a little bit about yourselves! It will help me out and I'll be able to refer back to keep people straight!
Info I would be interested in knowing: Name, or what you like to be called, gender, married/kids, ecig interests (fave model, modding, DIY, etc), other interests and whatever else you feel like posting about yourself.

So here's mine:
My name is Jamie, but I will also answer to blue and/or dove. I am 32, stay-at-home mom currently (soon to go back to school to get my BS so I can teach Biology). I am something of an amateur nutritionist and whole-foods nut.
I have 2 beautiful kiddos. My son, Elias is 9yo. He homeschooled last year due to problems at school, but he has since been diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome as well as ADHD and we are FINALLY getting him the help he needs. His 4th grade year (back at public school) has been great so far!
My daughter, Chloe is just 16mos. She's currently cutting her 1 yr molars, but other than that is doing famously. She's going to be Tinkerbell for halloween. Either I can't figure out how to post pics or they are too big to post...

My honey, Tim, is the reason I'm here. I quit smoking 10 years ago when I found out I was pregnant with my son. Tim has worked very hard on cutting back/quitting, including trying Chantix and nothing has really worked. I had about given up on the idea that he would ever be successful when someone talked to him about ecigs. We jumped in feet first and ordered an E9 starter kit from E-cig.com(this was before I found this forum). He got 36mg cartos with his kit and OD'ed in a very bad way his first time out vaping. So we put that away and began looking for something else. Ordered 16mg prefilled and blank cartos from LeCig since it was about the only other place I found with cartos for the E9(it's a KR808D-2 and not compatible with the KR808D-1). Still, the 16mg was too high or so it seemed. We got some juice from FSUSA and he has been able to handle 12mg, though for regular use, I think we'd do better lower. We now have some samples of lower nic juice on it's way thanks to markfm and loxmythe. And Satharra and Big Chief are helping us get started with a KR808-1 too!

I am highly motivated to find Tim an ecig that works for him. It's good that I'm here to do the research and learn all about this stuff since he's not much of a forum kinda guy. Hopefully he'll be off analogs before long and we'll be offering up our own DIY stuff in the PIF thread! I'm so happy to have found this forum and this PIF group. You guys are all so awesome!

Ok, so there is a book about me, lol! Thanks for hangin' in there if you actually read all that!

Welcome first off to the ECF and to PIF! I am somewhat new as well, started vaping August 13th. :) My name is Cyia or Carrie, either or works. I am married 4 years (been together 6), 23 and have two kids. Yay for starting early right? Got a head start so to speak. My daughter is 4 and my son is 9 months :) I love to draw, create things and play games. Hubby and I have been franticly searching for jobs since April of this year with no luck yet. My art keeps us a float along with my grandma currently. I got on this forum, spent 4 whole days of doing nothing but research and we saved up and bought our first 510 kit to share. And now we have a riva kit we share together.

Husband had been smoking since he was 11 and I started when I was 16. It's been so nice changing our lives from vaping. Meeting all these wonderful people. Getting away from the smoke, our children are happier, it's a blessing.

And you are an awesome Wife for doing all this for your husband :) My husband isn't a forums type of guy either so he kinda goes with the flow and gets all his info from me, which isn't hard since all i do is research and play around on these forums and sites XD and I'm a jabber jaws.. LOL

Awesome to meet ya and Hope all goes well!

P.s. I like smilies!

I read it! :)

I'm 41, have a beaufiful baby girl, Livi, who is 19 months old. I stay at home with her and my partner of 13 years, Beth, works outsided the home. I keep another baby a few days a week.

I have degenerative joint disease and have good and bad days, but mostly good. :)

I prefered to be called Chelle, although my full name is Michelle. :)

I started vaping in November of 2009 and my devices of choice are a 510 eGo or a 3.7v box mod...and sometimes I break out the standard 510 auto batts to get more of a "smoking a cig" sensation. Love Boge cartomizer, either standard or low resistance...and have new found love for low resistance atty's after thinking I'd hate atty's for life.

Best of luck to Tim! If you guys need anything, let us know! :)

Oh i love this thread... :)

I'm Pammie ( or Pamela Ann when my mom used to be ...... at me ) I'm 53 divorced and took care of my mother who had alzheimers until her death in 2007. I have a 29 year old son named Jordan. And, i have bassets...2 at the moment but have had 4 at one time. I did rescue for awhile, but i honestly cannot keep up with 4 big dogs. So...the 2 is plenty for me.

I started smoking when i was 15 and quit last year when i discovered the vape. I have a few health issues but basically i have a good life and the bassets of course make it so much more fun.

I work long 12 hour shifts...usually i work 2 days and 2 nights..then off 4. Thats why I'm usually on really late at night..because I never know when im suppost to sleep !

Anyways.thats me :) Good to meet ya'll.

Blue...excellent thread! What a great idea.

Hi all I'm Cheryl. I'm not telling my age, just that I'm older than all of ya. Single mom of 4 boys (I started young too), 30,28,24,20 and grandma of one boy....6, the cutest little chit you'd ever see. Ok, so I'm a bit partial.

Work a full time job and love what I'm doing just not where I'm doing it. I'm sure those that have been around will notice that I tend to be a little quiet. Very shy, I usually don't just jump in and chat.

Started vaping the end of July with no intention of quitting the analogs. Then I found myself grabbing the ecig more than the analog so I though I'd give it a try and so far so good. I quit August 11th. Have only pif'd a couple of times but am willing to help out when I can.

It's nice to read about all of you. Thanks for that.

Hi Jamie! Welcome :D
I'm not on here much as I bounce between a full time IT job, full time college student, full time parent of 2, full time husband of a wonderful wife, and traveling 2 hours south of me for medical treatments for high cholesterol! Sooo, that being said, I'll be on for a week or so, then not on again for a few weeks, then on again for a day or two, then back off again for a while. It's really just when I can find the time through a hectic schedule!

I've been vaping since Feb, 2010! Actually valentines day...that was the day my wife and I got our Blu kits. Needless to say, they got me off of cigs, but I've upgraded numerous times since then as you may see in my signature. My wife still smokes regular cigs, and I've given up on trying to get her to vape with me because I think I have basically turned her off of it from trying so hard! What can I say, I want her to be around as long as I hope I'll be around lol! I've backed off in hopes that she'll make the decision on her one soon.

I work for a global manufacturing company in their IT department (computer department for some). I'm also still in school for my BS in Information Systems Security..I have hopes of one day becoming a certified ethical hacker....sounds bad but it is really for good lol!

My children are almost 5 and 3, but for now are 4 and 2. November is the month of our whole family's birth dates...4th, 10th (marine corp. b-day!), 27th, and 30th. Yep, the whole family celebrates in 1 month lol! I always said it was valentines day that did it to us lol!

As for my cholesterol issue mentioned above, I was born without an organ that monitors how much cholesterol the body produces...so mine produces it 24/7. To the point that I have buildups on my tendon areas such as hands. I just recently had surgery to remove it once again...not fun! But the treatments keep me going and lower my cholesterol for a few days in between, so I'm happy that I at least have that to keep me around!

Welcome to the group and enjoy your stay! You're sure to meet some great people on here :D

I play at engineering by day, used to do high mountain trekking vacations, started scuba diving 5 years back.
Been married to DW just over 2 years. No children, but we've been adopted by two dogs.
Started vaping in July, after reading a comment in passing on a story about NYS tax increases. Just starting into DIY, enjoying it.
I use an 808, planning on a G400 (808 on steroids).
Happy camper, at a good place in life.

I'm Jan.
I share jj2 with hubby (RW), but he isn't on much and if he is, it's usually just to peek into the Modder's Forum.
RW is disabled and we are both over 60.
We raised two kids: Daughter (40), and son (34).
One granddaughter. kaderick, she is also Type 1---was diagnosed last December so we are all still learning the ropes, but she's a healthy and active little ball of energy.
40 year smoker. I've been vaping for about a year and a half and thanks to RW I mainly use Mods. I've been nicotine free for almost as long as I've been vaping.

My pride and joys at EFC which I moderate:

Its so funny how you make a mental picture of someone that you talk to but can't see and the picture is rarely ever right!

I have been married for 31 years. I have 1 adult son and 1 grandson that will turn 2 next Saturday and is the light of my life. I love wildlife (as in nature, not partying lol) and animals in general. I have 2 parrots and numerous wild birds and animals in my yard that I provide and care for.

I have had 3 failed back surgeries and am disabled.

I started ecigs when my mom ordered a rip off no nic just vapor kit from a TV commercial. I also help my mom with things as she is elderly and has health issues. So, I was the one that returned the first kit and did all of the research to find the right kit. My mom is a smoker of 60 years. She is not entirely off the cigs but I am still hopeful and at the very least she has cut back to 3-4 a day instead of 2-3 packs a day. My husband and I both are completely off the cigs and have been for 2 months. I do as much as I am able to in order to keep it as simple as possible for my mom. I handle all of the ordering, storing of supplies, filling of cartos etc. I hope to get a 5V box mod for her soon as I think that is what it will take to get her off the cigs. That is all that I can really think of to say.

BTW- Bluedove- you just won a PIF from me today but from reading your post I think that the 36 mgs is going to be too much. Let me see what else I may have.

PS I smoked 2 pks a day for 35 years. Quit for 5 years and foolishly started again.

Well I'm boB one of the "whole zbasspro family on the forum" Sometimes I go by Be oh be, as well. I used to do quite a bit of drinking when I was younger and when I would walk into the bar, everyone would say "it's be oh be". The reason I go by boB is because I grew up disliking my name because it is so common, and people always said you couldn't spell it backwards, well I try to kill both those birds with one stone by using boB.

With that out of the way I'm 40 years old. My wife Missy and I will have been together for 20 years this October. We have 2 boys one 18 and one 11. I've fought disabilities since the age of 27. I've done a little bit of everything in life, and have known both good and bad times financially. I'm currently experiencing the latter.

I started smoking when I was 14. I spent the next 26 years trying to quit. The patch and gum in the 80s, Hypnosis and pills to the current. I watched my Father suffocate to death from cigs, and cancer take my MIL 5 years ago. I have been determined my whole life that they wouldn't take me. Missy and I both took classes through the County health dept. a year and 1/2 ago, along with patches again. We both made it over 3months and were off the patches, but miserable as could be. Gave into that one cig out of frustration one day, and was back to 2PAD within days. I remember that well, because that was the day I accepted my fate. I would one day be strapped to an oxygen tank, same as my dad.

Towards the end of May we say a commercial on TV advertising an ecig. I googled for information on them and wound up here. I wound up in the new members section which I'm sure you all remember? You know the place where that person who quit 7 days ago knows EVERYTHING. "Well I know where you're at bud you need this and this and this, I was there once myself". My thinking is yeah you were there a week ago dillweed

Well, dillweed talked me into an ego kit from cignot which is still my daily PV today. Sorry guys if my sense of humor offends some. It's just who I am, and I don't plan on changing. But somewhere along the lines someone pointed me here, and I truly believe that's what made the biggest difference. I don't know that I would have made it this far without my friends here. Fortunately I'll never find out. boB

Howdy ya'll... I'm in the deep South and live within yelling distance of leannebug. The wife and I smoked for many-a year and had flirted with the whole idea of e-cigs about two years ago, finally getting into the act about 6 months ago. Well, we've never looked back. I've got three kids who I'm sure are pretty thankful as well and we seem to be converting most of our friends.

Hmmmm, not sure if anyone really wants to know me as even my friends think of me as the bouyant intelligent eccentric, I'm just naturally a mellow and easy-going dude with a large lack of self-confidence.

Well, my name is John and I have been vaping since April, had my last cigarette June 6th. My wife also quit smoking the day she found out she was pregnant, which coincided with conception evidently as she got morning sickness the next day! She has been on me since we got married 21 years ago (Sept. 16th!) to quit and since she ceased its been the daily harangue and it was getting old. My grandfather and 2 of his brothers died of emphysema, my dad and his brother had it, and my dad died at 47 from a massive heart attack brought on by the 3-1/2 packs of Vantages he smoked a day (plus the bottle of scotch a day, I'm part Irish, the family can really drink!), the other side lost a lot to TB before cures so I figure I'm pretty weak-lunged to begin with. Why I smoked for 30 years I'll never know, I liked the image and it didn't seem to be affecting me -- but then I got winded wrestling my 12-year-old son, the first time that happened, and I thught this was a real stupid way to die. I have tried gum, cold turkey, and was going to get Zyban but I was told it would make me even goofier -- and no one wanted that! My wife had a friend at work who quit using the V4L system, she put me on it and I liked it, it was the first 'alternative' tool that gave me something to do with my hands, the action of smoking is a hard thing to forget. Yeah, I have myself the spins a coiple times in the beginning! If you need any cartos I still have some laying around.........

My son's friend's older brother has Asberger's, the school system finally got a good therapist and now he's a straight-a student in h.s., he's a great kid. :)

I'm married to a woman who is smarter than I thought, who actually knows me as she was my sis's best friend growing up -- its nice to be real in a relationship -- and we have the one son we waited to have until we were in our mid-30's, she wanted me to mature! Men don't mature/take responsibility until they have to, I fully believe that. I know he is the best thing that ever happened to me and the reason I quit. I am actually the stay-at-home part of the relationship, a volunteer (and board member) of my son's school (79 students, K-8! Its just a little rural here!), a steel detailer which is a table draftsman (hate CAD) who draws structures and miscellaneous iron and is severly underemployed right now. Construction sucks, especially Illinois construction, and I hope I don't have to get a 'job' again but we can't live on her salary forever, I know the s*** is going to hit the fan sooner or later.

I don't have the health problems of others here nor even the enormous financial pressures others are facing and I know how lucky I am. I am always amazed by the generosity of those here in PIF, even when they can't afford it, I read more than I post. My wife and I got into a 'discussion' today as we went somewhere and I let people in when I was driving (8-o), she got on me saying people are always taking advantage of me, blah, blah, blah, and when will, I guess, I become cold and hard-hearted like everyone else. Like I always tell her and my son, its the smiles you give and the smiles you get is how you make the community a happy place and I can look into the mirror every day when I go to bed and know I was a good person that day. I in no way measure up to others on here but I do try to help and fit in when I can...:) I really like this group of people.

Wow, did I talk too much! See, this is why I try not to post too much............

Hello, and welcome. My name is Jennifer/Jenn. I started vaping last spring. I was one of the lucky ones in that after my first hit on my pv I have never had another craving for a cig. I cannot see my ever stopping vaping though- I just flat out enjoy it.
I have been with my partner for 23 years now and we raised her son who is now 30. My proffession was that of a licensed socialworker. Due to an assault which damaged my lower back and legs I had to go out on disability. I miss having a career so much and have pretty much become a hermit since the day I was forced to stop working. The pif group postings are a big part of my daily socialization.
Again, welcome to the group, its full of the best people you could find. Jenn
