Hello everyone this is SadLittlePony, I got some tips to get the biggest bang for your buck if you happen to own a Blu E-Cig. First of all I have been wanting to make this guide but I did not have a camera to take pics. My friend came over a little bit ago and happened to have a camera on his phone so I nabbed it and took some pics to bring you this short little guide. As many know I am stuck with this Blu until my birthday. I am moving soon and I cant order anything that will arrive in time. So this is what I am doing to get myself by. The following images are all clickable that link to an album so you can see all the images in large size.

This is the Blu E-Cigarette. It has minimal battery life and doesn't provide a good experience. The flavors are limited and tech support is pretty lacking. It has a cool down cutoff that if you take too big of a drag it will shut off and end your drag. There is a workaround to this that will give you a nice hot thick vape. The system works by letting you know that you might be smoking too much by blinking 6 times if you take 6 decent puffs on it. Unfortunately for some people 6 puffs is one drag. The workaround is this, Take many small puffs to get the cartomizer warm or hot. Once you do this you can take your long drag with a nice hot thick vapor. It will still cut off but you can enjoy it a lot more.

Another alternative to increasing vapor production, this tip was given to me by tech support after I had to pry it out of them. Place the cartomizer in between your palms with the threaded end facing downward. Spin it back and forth in your hand as if your warming up your hands with friction. Tap the threaded end to the palm of your hand a few times or onto a surface that wont damage the cartomizer. This moves the e-liquid to the atomizer inside.

This is how a cartomizer comes packaged. It has a little rubber cup and a leaf sticker covering the mouth piece. This cartomizer can be reused and save you even more money than if you were to just buy new cartomizers. You can fill it with any E-Liquid you like, I recommend any E-Liquid that has a high viscosity so you don't end up with dry hits too often. There are a number of venders that sell a huge variety of flavors ranging from waffles, to popsicles, to pine trees. Pick a few out. Your Blu came with five cartomizers.

The first thing you want to do is peel off the black sticker. This serves many purposes. The black sticker has glue on it, when the cartomizer gets hot the glue heats up and emits toxic vapors that are unpleasing to smell and taste. For a cleaner vape take it off. With that said you now have a nice shiny stylish cartomizer that you can decorate with Sharpie or simply label what you have inside. Sharpie comes off with a light rubbing of vinegar so go ahead and label them how you want and not the way Blu has them labeled. I recommend using a Black Fine-Tip to write the VG-PG ratio, the Flavor, and the Nicotine Strength.

When you have expended a cartomizer reusing them is very easy. Unfortunately your flavor may be a little off unless you spend time cleaning these well. The first step is to remove the mouth piece and the silicon washer inside. The washer is to prevent the cartomizer from leaking and the mouth piece holds them in place. Don't lose these pieces.

When completly disassembled boil some water. Distilled is preferred so you don't get any hard water grime build up inside of your cartomizer. Boil them for about Five minutes and take them out. You should see a puddle of the old E-Liquid in the bottom of your container you boiled them in. Try not to disturb the E-Liquid so it doesn't wind up back inside. Repeat this process until there is no longer E-Liquid pooling in the bottom. When your done place the cartomizers on dry rice. The rice will absorb the moisture and speed up the drying process. When they are completely dry add you own E-Liquid by dropping it into the Poly-fill on the sides. Don't drop is down the middle. Add drops until the liquid no longer sinks into the Poly-fill. You are ready to use your refurbished cartomizers.

Still not getting a thick vape that you want? There is one more additional step that you can take to improve your Blu E-Cigarette. The construction of the cartomizer has two holes just above the threading. There is one on each side. The disposable Blu E-Cig only has one hole on its side. One hole is all you need. The battery itself has Four notches on the edge where these two holes will line up with.

If you cover one or both of these holes and draw air through the Blu it will produce significantly more vapor. Unfortunately it will be harder to draw air through and may take a bit of adjusting to get used to. If you watch where these holes align to you can cut a small piece of duct tape or electrical tape and cover three vents one of which has the cartomizers hole lined up to. That way when your vaping you can control the flow of air by covering the exposed vent with your finger. You can draw while tapping this hole for a nice vape that wont be too hard to draw from.

Most of this information in this guide will work with other gas station E-Cigarettes and has probably been mentioned before. I wrote this review because I wanted to show that even a crappy E-Cigarette like the Blu can still be good. You can use these methods to tide you over until you get that eGo or Mod that you always wanted. Until then I hope you all enjoyed this guide and I hope it helps you all.

Good tip. I'll try it. My mom-in-law is moving in w/ us next month & just started smoking Blu per my suggestion. I figured I'd surprise her w/ a 5 pack carts w/ some of my juice from NW Vapors when she arrived. I'm not using my Blu premium pack anyways since I graduated to an Echo quite a few months go. :)

The pointy tip of a pair of needle nose pliers works really well at removing glued in mouthpieces - just wiggle & rotate/turn the carto while you're gently lifting the tip of the pliers & it should come out without too much fuss. They're a lot easier to remove after you've fought the glue on the first go round :)

I did not have to peel my cartridges. I have been using a bedroom door unlocking tool to get my caps off... I would try a piece of wire hanger... paper clips are not strong enough. Also don't boil my carts... just blow juice into paper towel to flush it out.

Anyone have any of the old style carts that you had to push on to an atomizer? What can you do with those if unused?

I've never used Blu batteries, but I heard they're junk; the cartos are actually pretty decent though-I've bought Blu prefilled cartos twice (Walgreen's) once because I didn't have any cartos or juice, and once because they were convenient for travel; I've refilled them (the trick is to use a drill bit the same size as the endcap hole, pops it right off) they're a sightly smaller diameter than standard cartos though, so you can't use 510 drip tips (which I use on everything) The bonus is that I saved all the little rubber thread caps, and I use them on my cartos to protect the threads. I think if Blu would invest in some better batteries (hello Blu, they're out there) they'd get more sales and more respect.

Broke out my old Blu cig pack to try this out. Great instructions. What's the trick to getting the mouth piece off without mangling it? Tried a paper clip, then pliers and it finally came off but it's destroyed. Any tips? (pun not intended)

Wood screw
screw it in about 4 threads and pull like a cork
back end of screw can be used to tamp down the silicone washer

A binder clip works great, just rip the silver wire piece off and bam

Big tobacco bought Blu and I wonder if they make them bad for the purpose of keeping people on anologs. If a smoker doesn't dig on the internet the only e cig they see are the cig a likes in the quick stops, Walgreens, and Walmart. If they decide to give them a try they find the first few Vapes are great then the battery looses power and there goes the hit! (this happens in the first 10 vapes).

If you smoke more than a pack of anologs a day do not buy a Blu. All you will get done is charge the little batteries and in a month you will have cycled the batteries to death.

The cartos are nice. (pricey $15.00 5 pack) 510 thread for emergencies. I liked every flavor except the coffee (which generally is a burnt taste in many brands). The Blu disposable works pretty good for a full day (coming from a 2 pack a day anolog user). The problem with the disposable is the $10.00 price tag.

I would advise anyone starting out (unless you just take a few puffs after a meal) to go with anything other than a cig a like. Get a pair of bigger batteries and save yourself the frustration and money of the cig a likes. Buy a disposable Blu if you want to give the e-cig a first try and it will give you an idea of how vaping taste and feels. I would highly suggest getting a VV battery right from the start. You can adjust the power to obtain the ideal vape and they generally will be the same from start to finish. With the Blu they start off okay and quickly go to very low end by the time you are nearing the end of the battery you are blowing a lung to get a hit. That is 2 cents from someone who blew two hundred on blu starter, replacment battery, and cartos. In the 2nd or third week I bought a real battery and realized I wasted a lot of money. I could have spent $75.00 and been far ahead.
