Hey ECF,

It's been probably about 3 months of inactivity on these forums. That's because I have gone back to smoking. Let me explain my story.

3 months ago I was given the news that I have Colitis. It was an ongoing issue I've been dealing with for the better part of a year now. It just came out of nowhere. Part of me thought it could have been from vaping, but realistically the chances of that are slim. I stopped vaping anyways and went back to smoking. Since Ive been smoking, my Colitis has cleared up. I am not saying it is because of vaping, but the medication I am on is definately the main cause of me getting better.

2 weeks ago I decided to start vaping again, after only a couple days I noticed blood in the toilet again. This hasn't happened since I started taking the medication. I am starting to think this is no longer a coincidence. It is quite possible I am allergic to something, maybe the PG?. I will be buying 100% VG to try. I am willing to give it another test with PG/VG just to see. I'm going on 2 weeks now with proper bowel movements while smoking.

I want to get back into vaping, but want something better this time that will keep me off smoking for good. I've been a long time owner of an iTaste VV and it's work pretty good up until recently. I felt I wanted more so I went out a bought a rebuildable and mech mod clone. The hassle of building my own coils is not for me.

Can anyone recommend me something with Variable Voltage that has some nice power to it?. Something that I can pair with a ProTank or equivalent. I am looking for a tank that has pre-made coils that I can purchase extra.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I hope you find that vaping is not causing your colitis and you find the right pg and or VG levels. Personally I know I couldn't quit smoking any other way.
I have bought a couple of Vision Spinner ll and love them. I really like the wd tumblers from Fasttech on top of them. My next purchase when I can find them is the Eleaf Istick. My MVP 2 is great as well-I just find its not good for on the go use.

Good luck!

I sure hope you can get things figured out. That's not a very good trade-off to getting off tobacco :(

This is just a shot in the dark, but have you tried probiotics? The real stuff not just yogurt, etc. Sometimes just a change in body chemistry can mess things up. May be worth a shot.

When I started vaping only I had an upset stomach a lot and my wife thought I should try going back to smoking but I was determined and it passed. Perhaps I am allergic to something or perhaps it was something else. I now suspect it was withdrawal from cigarettes.

Interesting, I've had intermittent stomach upset also which is not normal for me. I'm just letting things play out also.

to ecf eFFeRR. So glad that you are here. I have read where an intolerance to PG could possibly cause ......... Easy experiment would be to use a 100% vg juice or buy some vg at Walmart and add to your juice now to raise the vg percentage. Flavor would be somewhat muted but not bad enough for you not to be able to see if this helped. I sure hope someone comes along that can help you. I wish you luck and hope to be reading in the future about your successful vaping. Keep us posted on your progress because this is also a way of learning and being able to help others.

Sorry to hear of your gastro int issues.

On the device front, I'd recommend either the iTaste MVP 2.0 VV/W or the eleaf iStick 20W. Protanks work great with either (although I'd recommend either the Kanger aerotank or the Aspire Nautilus mini over ptanks).

The MVP you can get from a lot of Canadian vendors (e.g., Canvape), but I'm having trouble sourcing a Cdn vendor with the iStick in stock at the moment. You could order that from a US vendor, though, as customs has no issue with hardware in my experience (just don't put juice or batteries in the order if you did go this route).

Really hope you find a solution for your problems - smoking feels like too high a price to pay for relief.

Sorry to read of your difficulties. What the body goes through after quitting is severely underestimated.
Oh just quit...THEY say! If only it's that easy...depression, mood swings, weight gain/loss, headaches etc. the entire
immune system and body chemistry is altered, let alone, what the brain is going through. I've been vaping for 2.5 years and in that time
I've been dx'd with colitis as well. I have read many studies on the affects of nic and UC....swing by google and have a look.
Here is one article Smoking, Nicotine and IBD
You could talk to your doctor about your situation, possibly a patch would help or 'upping' your nic? :)

mvp2 w/nautilus mini is a great choice and cheap compared to a carton of analogues
for ibs i would up ur nic content and/or use juice derived from tobacco.

my son has colitis, i used to when i was younger but ive seem to have almost all but grown out of it, maybe smoking analogues helped but not sure.
back in the day(the 80's) ibs was not known and i thought i had a weak stomach.

my son is taking meds that has almost stopped all the colitis symptoms, its about $230/mnth for meds and has greatly improved his life as he had daily bouts of ibs.
cant recall meds name but can find out for u if u like, best thing about the meds is theres little to no side effects but needs to be on them for 2-3 years to maybe be cured of colitis or at the very least have symptoms greatly reduced

Just my two cents on this. I use an iTaste MVP and an eVic throughout my day, both have amazing battery life, and can be adjusted up to 5v for a good hit. I know there are several mods out there that will allow you to go higher then 6 volts.

As far as tanks are concerned, for VV devices, I have been thoroughly impressed with the Nautilus BVC unit. It's a bit more expensive then most out there, but it delivers performance. Other tanks that come to my mind are the Aspire BDC or BVC Novas, the EVOD tank (Same or similar head as a protank)

I am using an EVOD tank right now modified a small bit at 4.3volts on my MVP. I just replaced the silica wick with organic cotton and noticed a major difference across the board.

For each user, I find to each their own. You may have to find a tank & battery combo that works well for you.

Best of luck to you, and hopefully we'll help keep you off the analogs for good. If you start slipping, don't hesitate to let us know, there are a lot of people here that will gladly help you.
