Greetings
Im waiting for my Nemesis clone to arrive and now I need to buy batteries
and I want really good ones.
After som searching around the web I found that a lot recommend the AW IMR 18650.
So I was thinking of getting 2x of the following:
AW IMR18650 3.7V 2000mah HIGH DRAIN BUTTON TOP Rechargeable Li-ion Battery

It this a good choice and will these also go well with my Vamo V2 ?

I noticed they state "button top", does that matter when it comes to Nemesis clone and Vamo V2 ?

Thanks in advance!

OH, and as a side question, batteries with highter mAh, like 3000mAh. Is from what I have read and understood just unnecessary when coming to vaping, 2000mAh is just perfect. Correct?
Best Regards!

The mAh rating is a battery's charge capacity = an approximate figure of how long a battery will last between charges. A higher mAh rating is better than a lower mAh rating, depending upon the battery's application.

You don't need a 30 amp CDR battery if you are not going to do sub-ohms in a mechanical mod. Any of the 10 amp IMR or hybrid batteries will do just fine with factory-made coils with ohms > 1.5 ohm.

______________

The batteries that we use in mods are all Lithium Ion (Li-ion) batteries. There are three sub-classes of Li-ion batteries:

  • ICR protected batteries - these have the highest mAh ratings for the longest use between charges. However, they have a limited amp rating and are not suited for high-powered applications. Their chemistry is a volatile (flamable) one, and require built-in protection for them to be even safe to use. These batteries have been known to vent with flames during thermal runaway.

  • IMR (Li-Mn) batteries - also called high-drain, safe-chemistry, and un-protected. These have an inherently safer chemistry not requiring protection circuits. They are high drain capable, making them applicable for VV/VW regulated devices and mechanical mods using a Kick or rebuildable atty. Can still vent during thermal runaway, but not as dramatic as an ICR and without flames.

  • Hybrid batteries - somewhat new on the scene, these have components of both ICR and IMR batteries. High capacity, high drain, and safer chemistry.

That is what I use in my Nemesis, the 2000mah AWs. Don't know about the Vamo - don't own one.

I got a good deal on the following and from what I have heard it is an OK battery so I bought them and a charger,
18650 Sony US18650VTC4 2100mAh High Discharge Flat Top
Right or wrong?

And is that specific battery an IMR, hybrid or ICR ?

Sony 18650 VTC4 are the best batteries on the market at the moment. Cant go wrong there...

Sony VTC4s are Hybrid batteries. They are what I use unless I'm vaping above 1.0 ohms then I use an 18500/350 simply because they're more compact.

This is a hybrid high-drain battery. Because of its 30 amp continuous discharge rate, it is a good candidate for sub-ohm vaping.

That depends upon the application they are being used for. In the Vamo, a battery like the Panasonic NCR18650PD or PF 2900 mAh (10 amp) would be the best battery because of their higher mAh rating for longer battery time. The additional amps of the Sony would be overkill for the Vamo as it can't do sub-ohms, and won't last as long as the Panny's because of only having 2100 mAh.

True.... edit*

Yea, I think the Panasonic NCR18650PD is the best 18650 on the market. That's why I bought two of them earlier today. :D

2900 mAh capacity in both my Nemesis and VTR is pretty friggin' sweet. Well, I can only imagine right now. But 2900 definitely > 2100.
Remember, the Panny's only have a 10 amp continuous discharge rate. Careful if you are doing sub-ohms with those in the Nemesis.

What are the best batteries out there for VV/VW ? I mean the make and model.
(I know high mAh for VV is good, last a long time)
I found these pretty cheap:
18650 Panasonic NCR18650PF 2900mAh High Discharge Flat Top

Its from an US store.
Ive heard that you really shouldn't order batteries from asia - a lot of counterfeit batteries?
Because I also found a couple for a really good price at well known store in asia.
(Not saying they are counterfeit but im no expert so I don't know)
But I want to buy quality batteries since I vape a lot.

Pretty much any battery that can handle 10A continuous is safe enough in an APV. The sub ohming straight into the coil type people need the high current because those type rigs pull alot of current. The APV's circuitry between the battery and the coil prevent it from pulling too much too fast. (unless you get into the DNA20-30 watt chipsets)

I have been rocking Efest 2000mAh batteries in all my rigs, either Vamo or kicked mechs. AW's would be better because they are higher quality

Yeah I got my order of 2x 18650 Sony US18650VTC4 2100mAh High Discharge Flat Top today that will go into my Nemesis mechanical.

How about the site dx.com - do they sell counterfeit or are the stuff real deal there?
