So I received my first shipment from HC, China the wait was well rewarded with a couple of Joyetech ego-c twists and tank attys B-type.. Robust and masculine design, passed the 3Fs( FEEL, FIT & FINISH) the moment I had it in my hand. So after 30 minutes of ogling at it, decided that it was time for putting it to work..blew out the initial primer from the attys filled up a tank with my Zicchi juice menthol flavor, assembled the machine and vaped.... and I was lost. This was my first tank atty experience, didn't have any idea what to expect and that's exactly what I got...an unexpected VTF, the Volume was high no doubt TH also enough but the "F" had vanished. Am I blaming the tank system ? No am I blaming the Twists? No.... this is just the thing that is happening with us over and over again, when we are trying newer things , without understanding the dynamics behind the systems..

Let me explain ( I will try my best) , IMO what has just happened is my juice had fallen weak for the system, the juice vaporized at a much higher temperature , than what it was used to, in my previous cartos which have a higher ohm reading, hence I was dumb enough to try the 1.8ohm and 2.2ohm range. So now I am not liking my menthol anymore, but few other juices which I kept aside like coffee and Marlboro, tasted much better. So my first problem begins , that I don't have enough juice that I like...

Secondly, I was pretty much vaping away the entire day with my 510 cartos , with 18 mg strenght, now with the tank the the higher Volume of vape is delivering me more nic than usual..and in a couple of hours on the new system, was starting to give me a slight head ache and dizziness. So to continue on this I would need a lower nic level, not that it means i am consuming less nicotine, just that I am feeding myself with more vapor in a shorter time.

Thirdly, which is obvious , my juices are vanishing much faster in the form of vapes and about 5-10% through leakage or seepage whatever you may call it, I have noticed, as the tank gets emptier the last few drops somehow find it hard to stay inside the tank.. and I hate wasting juices , specially the ones i love. So I need more juice now.

And yes twisting and turning the batt. did not make any substantial change as I don't have multiple types of "omizers".

I have realized a few things from this endeavor. Firstly we have to keep a couple of things "CONSTANT" be it the atomizer/ clearomizer / cartomizer etc. and fix a range of resistance, that suits us. Then, fix the juice type and vendor, because every vendor is making their juice keeping in mind what works best in their hardware, and it may or may not work for us, some food standard flavors lose their taste at higher temps and go bland. IMHO the battery comes last of all...and should be in accordance to the atty we have chosen. I still feel the twist is a great concept, just that i have gone wrong on the other two parts..the JUICE and the MIZERS.

with my 510batt and cartos things were more in balance and I was pretty much in control of my requirements , but now am thrown off track...thanks to my ever wandering mind and fellow fingers, going places over the internet and getting me hooked on newer gadgets. Jumping from one system to an entirely new system IMHO will eventually land us in trouble......Am so scared to even think of the mods at this point, it must be WILD out there.

There's more I would like to add, but out of time for now..

Do Let us know if any of you have had a similar experiences....

Cheers

Hi Souvik,

Welcome to the land of perpetual experimentation :) I think you have chosen a good device, stick to it and keep vaping, while you figure out what could better your experience.

About the flavor loss, I dont vape menthol at all, but I remember reading that menthol juices usually loose flavor on higher voltages / tempratures. Since you have the twist, i'd recommend trying low voltages with your menthol juices. I have read a lot of people complain that the ego tank systems diminish flavor, but in my experience its been quite the opposite. I have had more flavor from the tank systems than most cartomizer based commercial ecigs out there. It could be because I use Tobacco and RY4 flavors mostly.

Better your device, more juice you will consume. I know a lot of folks out here who consume anywhere between 6ml to 9ml eliquid a day and some even more! Thats probably not humanly possible with basic 510 / 808 style ecigs :D. I felt like reducing the nic levels too when I switched from my eGos to my Reos and ordered 12mg instead of 18mg. I kinda regretted that purchase as in a couple of days of using the Reo with 1.8ohm Cisco attys, even with its obnoxious amounts of vapor, I felt the need for 18mg again. So give it some time. If you feel dizzy or sick, give longer breaks between your puffs. In the excitement of the new device, we sometimes tend to overuse it :). And remember to drink a lot of water!

Thanks Darco for dropping in...you have pretty much summed up the issue here...and am guilty as charged too, indeed have overused it a bit ...as you know waited 20 long days for the goodies to arrive :D.. right now am missing my daily flavor menthol , plus alarmingly running low on juices.....but there might be some hope left, do check out the site I sent you ... they also seem to be stocking juice and some usa mix too...

Souvik there is no reason why you can't vape the menthol in your cartos at lower voltage. If you like the tank system for the others, then by all means use it for them.

Having tried menthol in a tank system ( I have an ego-t not the twist), besides the normal problems you will read about with the tank system I also found that any thing I had put the menthol in or which ever attys I had used I never could get rid of that menthol from even after cleaning. Don't get me wrong I like menthol, but that doesn't mean I want a hint of menthol in my coffee flavors.

Ok..so after the initial shock, with the flavor loss...things are coming back to normal...think the primer lasted quite a long time in the attys, changing every flavor into something ugly. Now 3-4 tanks after, things are getting better. vaping the menthol at 3.2V and the Coffee at 4V...not that bad joyetech :)...thanks Darco and Nancy for being there for me :)
