Hey all,

Recently ive been researching into dripping and it looks to me like something I'd be into. Ive been looking up on tutorials on rda builds and briefly looked up on battery safety whilst using mechanical mods but still need to look into this more before i begin for obvious reasons. For my first mech mod I'd like to get something decent so im not really on a budget but at the same time I cant afford anything to ridiculous. I've been looking at the flawless tugboat v2 and it looks pretty good to me and I've read some really good reviews on it.
The only thing is im not sure wether it comes with an RDA deck? Also do all these mech mods take the same size RDA's?
If any one would like to recommened a set up to me as well that would be great im open to any suggestions and also any tips would be great to help me get started on dripping.

Thanks guys

Hey there:)
The tug is an okay setup, depending on where you get it, it can come with an rda. I personally don't like it though, the deck is pretty small, and not great for the builds I like.
I LOVE Kennedy rdas, and velocity rdas, and even the mutation X v4.
If you have a box mod with high enough wattage, you could pop an rda on there, and have more control and customization. I love using an rda on my Sigelei Fuchai. I also have an Able competition mod, from AV that I'm in love with.
And yes, most mech mods just utilize 510 rdas. It's the size of the deck of the rda that would vary most.

Hope I helped:)

Thanks for the info! I didn't even think of using a box mod. I guess that would be alot easier and probably safer. What sort of wattage will i be needing to drip? My kbox i have atm runs upto 70watts and im guessing thats not going to be high enough?

If you decide to buy once and cry once the Kennedy 22 or 24 maybe the best vape available at this time. There are a few like it now like the hurricane and tugboat V3 but I haven't tried either of these.

The tugboat is also a good rda and easy to build on. The setup your looking at is fine for starting in reality its not like your going to stop buying after your first purchase anyways.

There's no universal wattage for dripping. Most of mine are set up to run anywhere from 20-30w. I also have quite a few that run on the 40-60 range. Your Kbox will do great until you decide to upgrade. It probably won't be because you have to, more likely that you'll want to. Get yourself a good, cheap, clone for your first one to figure out what you like. I personally prefer the Stumpy RDA because of it's versatility. Anything from Wotofo would be good because you can get an authentic for a relatively low price. I just ordered the Sapor due to its great reviews.

My 2 favorite drippers are my Royal Hunter and Velocity. Both are super easy to build on, good airflow, and great flavor/clouds. I don't like super hot vapers so most of my builds are designed for 60 watts on the Royal Hunter, Velocity can handle way more since there are so many air holes so I run that one around 80-90

I really like building on Velocity decks. I love my Aromamzer (RTA) and Velocity and Velocity mini clones.

I don't drip much, so clones work for me.

At this point I almost exclusively drip and clones still work for me. Business ethic arguments aside, the good clones (Tobeco, Infinite, etc) are usually just as good as the originals and a lot more conducive to buying a bunch of different ones to find out what you like.

I just got the Tugboat V3 and have it on a Noisy Cricket. The Tugboat V3 is easy to build on but the post holes are a bit small so you won't be able to build Claptons or twisted wire on it. I much prefer Velocity Style decks. I have a Tsunami ordered that has a Velocity Style Deck. I am also thinking about a Wotofo Lush, good reviews. I also have a 13 Heavens that I love and a Freakshow by Wotofo that is a 3 post Deck. Wotofo makes nice affordable RDAs

the tobeco velocity RDA clone is my first and only RDA. As mentioned the deck is super easy to build on, its a clone so the price point is good, its an RDA so its basically indestructible and you can wick it almost however way you want.

I like using it for flavor testing when I'm making my own juice or when I get a new juice and don't want to commit an RTA for it. Flavor wise, well I'm a drinker, I've smoked analogs for 17 years (up until a month ago), so maybe my taste buds are out of whack but I find it similar to most of my RTAs. I'm even going to say that some of my RTAs produce better flavor and vapor than my one and only RDA.

I've got dual claptons 32/26 in there 7-8 wraps 3mm IAD and I usually vape it b/t 60-75W

Atm im just running the kbox mini with the kanger sub mini. I havn't started building on it yet as the pre built .5 coils are ok for now till i have some more time, it does the job. Not sure why but rda's and dripping just really appeals to me. I haven't actually looked into RTA's a great deal.

It has a lovely and easy to build on deck. It is affordable price wise. It can be converted to bottom feed easily enough.

Any wonder the tobeco velocity clones are continually being suggested as the go to rda? I am planning on buying a few. May buy a mini-velocity first to have one with a bottom feed pin. Imagine it will find a nest atop of the new Kanger dripbox planned to be bought.
