What about a kayfun 3.1?

This way I'll use it with my innokin vv v3 and get used to building coils until I buy a mechanical mod.

I would have to say no to that. It's possible to do, but the Kayfun is a pretty large tank for such a small battery.

Here's one on an MVP to give you an idea of the size.

I would really suggest buying a mod first. You can always use the tanks you have now, and get a couple of the high quality glass tank systems with easy to rebuild coils like the Kanger Protanks and Aerotank. That's a really good way to cut your teeth on the basics of building coils. Once you've learned the basics and are comfortable with what you are doing, then move into the RBAs. That way you'll have a better idea of what you want from an RBA before making a large investment in one.

Everybody suggests a cheap throw away car as a first car, it's same with building coils. Start with cheap and easy from a rebuildable tank before jumping in to the RBAs.
