Hello everyone, I'm from norway and I have been smoking for about 5 years, also using snus.

I have been thinking about quitting smoking for a while and just sticking to snus, and then I heard a friend of my mom doing some ecig stuff. So my online journey has brought be here as well as on youtube (I've seen some stuff by grimgreen and pbusardo).

I started this journey yesterday and I was on the fence of ordering an Ego Twitch starter kit but I didn't.

So now I'm here. I've heard some stuff about the vivi nova and so on.
Regarding the different types of *omizers, tanks, voltage and all that jazz. I'm not sure but I THINK what I need is either a clearomizer or tank.

I suspect I will be vaping quite a lot as I spend most of my time doing programming (mostly web development for those who wonder :p)
Although, If I were to vape while programming I guess the VP would need to have a very low weight, which is tricky.. I think.

As far as budget, I'd say I wanna get something around 100 bucks tops.

So, any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

The ego passthrough batteries might be a good choice for you! You can plug them in while you are at your desk and not have to worry about battery life! At the same time they do hold a charge and you can take them out and about with you for on the go vaping.

eGo Passthrough Clearomizer Kit

This kit is just an example of what I am taking about. It does come with two clearomizers!

*I have no affliation with that site, and I have never ordered from them*

a good way to start is with an ego twist and a vivi nova mini tank. get some good juice, and you're good to go. i would recommend the twist to anybody getting started, because it's so versatile and compact. it will serve you well. you can get them anywhere, but i'd recommend altsmoke.com. you should get two batteries, a charger, and some juice. they may be out of the vivi nova minis because they're very popular. the kanger t2 is a good second choice. no need to get crazy in the beginning....but that is what i would recommend you start with.

good luck-and welcome!

good point. i do a lot of adapting and work from home often. i usually have one twist plugged in and charging while i'm vaping another one...now, i just bought a varitube that i love, and i pretty much use it while i'm working on the computer. the twists are for travelling, you know? the tube is like...for house vaping. lol

Yeah most people recommend the Ego Twist, or the Vision Spinner, along with a Vivi Nova or Mini VN. The Mini's are somewhat similiar to the width of the Twist/Spinner, so a lot go with the Mini's. If you go that route you'll probably want two of them that way you have one, while the other is charging, and also as a backup. Also you'll want something like this eGo Thread Sleeve Type C Large Tank , It'll cover the threads and give a little platform for the Nova to sit on. Also don't forget a charger and juice.

Good luck on your vaping adventure :) Please post any other questions you have, lots of people here to help :)

Good choice on going with the Twist! Great little unit. As far as USB charging goes, its perfectly fine. It may take longer than an outlet unless your PC has USB 3 with a higher voltage output. USB 2 would serve just asbwellbin your situation because it sounds like you would only need a "trickle" charge any way just to keep the twist topped off while at your desk.

I haven't tried one yet but you might want to consider getting a variable volt passthrough. Pbusardo reviewed one that might work.
A PBusardo Review eGo Pass Thru VV
It comes in a 650mah 3v to 6v model that might be light enough for no hands vaping.

The Kanger M3 clearomizers produce a fantastic, clear vape with loads of vapor. They are very lightweight if you want to vape hands free. However, they are not rebuildable, need a syringe or needle bottle to fill and take forever to dry after rinsing. Even with the disadvantages I prefer them to anything else I've tried other than dripping and, for me, they are giving dripping a fair run for the money.

The Vision Vivi Novas have a slightly muted flavor but are easy to fill, clean and rebuild. However, even the mini size is definitely on the heavy side to vape hands free.

I just recommended a DIY Ego Twist kit from AltSmoke for a new member a few days ago here and they seemed very happy with it. You can see the thread here:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-pleasure-real-cigarettes-11.html#post7505203

The cost was under $75 US dollars. I also followed up on some helpful videos in the same thread. Hope that helps.

Ok, I went ahead and put the following in my basket\cart:
eGo-C Twist Battery (black 1000 MAH version)
eGo Series - USB Battery Charger
Vision Clearomizer - Version 3(I added the extra parts, I dno..)
  • 1 x VCE4 - Complete - Clear $4.95
  • 1 x VCE4 - Tube - Clear $1.99
  • 1 x VCE4 - Head - 1.8 $1.79
  • 1 x Vision Clearomizer - Metal Bottom $1.79

And of coruse, got 3 bottles of liquid:
  • AltLiquid Peach 18mg nic
  • AltLiquid MLM 16mg nic
  • AltLiquid Bahama Blizzard 18mg nic

Only problem is, I'm in Norway so I need european wall adapter. And it doesn't say whether it is US or EU version.
I guess I still have the usb thing but, hopefully it'll work. I'll just use it on my crappy laptop if anything.

I ordered it! whoho =D
It told them to exchange the charger with some extra juice for the same price should it not be a european wall charger.

Very good. Hopefully you meant hold the wall adaptor, and not the charger itself. I would think there are some European e-cig vendors that have the appropriate wall adaptor for your Twist's charger. Perhaps any European wall adaptor with a USB port would work, like from an electronics or computer store.

:danger: If you find you do like the Twist, I highly recommend that you get another for a backup, in case something happens to the first one. You don't want to be caught without a usable battery and feel the need to return to smoking. You'll also likely want additional clearomizers so you can put your favorite juice flavors in each one and be able to easily change flavors by changing clearos.

Good luck, and happy vaping! :vapor:

I happen to be in need of a second one myself...my Twist is on the charger now and I'm lost just using my original ego starter battery I have! I'll be getting another Twist ASAP!! Guess it is a good thing I have at least one backup anyway...

Absolutely. My own experience: I started out vaping with 4 Smokeless Image Volt cig batteries. The charge on them is only 3-4 hours tops, and I wasn't the most organized person to put the drained batteries into the charger when they were spent.

A few weeks into vaping, I realized I didn't have any charged batteries available, they were all drained! 8-o8-o And of course I had a full blown nic attack. I broke down and bought a pack of my old favorite Marlboro Menthols while a single battery was charging.

Funny thing was, those once wonderful tasting cigarettes tasted like :censored: now. I could barely finish one. I've never smoked another cigarette since, and have since upgraded to big battery mods that use batteries that last 1-2 days. I have 4 batteries that my Provari and Silver Bullet share, that immediately go into the charger when spent. My BB has 3 batteries.

I have ordered a starter kit with an EU wall adapter from a US website, but it didn't fit anyway.
It had two flat prongs, instead of the two small round prongs that we are familiar with.
Unless they sent me the wrong one of course, but i just charge by usb anyway.

I definitely see where that's going to be a must for me! I have 3 total at the moment. One twist and the 2 that came with my ego starter pack and I definitely like the twist best! Sooo, when that one dies I have a panic attack! While it's on the charger I hope and hope that the others aren't ready to quit because I will be lost! I've only been at this a couple a weeks now and still have a regular every now and then, so if I didn't have any ecigs around I could easily go back to them. But yes, they are tasting worse and worse as time goes on and I think in the next few days I'll be real cig free. Can't say enough about these things! And this forum is the best at helping me get rid of them altogether! Probably won't be long till I start upgrading too. Just have no idea right now as to what that'll be so till then I'm gonna have to have another twist as my backup!

That's generally how it goes. Once our taste buds return to health, we are finally able to realize how bad cigarettes actually taste.

Backups are definitely a must. And backups for the backups.

You will know when you are ready to upgrade. You'll want longer battery life between batteries; perhaps a box or tube mod that uses cheaper, rechargable batteries will look more attractive. The battery carrier will be made more durable to last years, and batteries that will last about a year are only $10. The big battery mods can also carry a larger capacity of juice in a tank.

A monthly budget needs to be set, or a future spending plan, as you can easily start spending more for vape equipment than smoking.
