My girlfriend is still on analogs, and my mech mods at sub ohm are way too strong for her tastes. I recently got her an evod BCC which she is getting used to, though it has been gurgling and leaking juice into the mouthpiece so she is reluctant to use it. I tried flipping the rubber grommet inside the tank upside down and that seems to work so far, but honestly I am way out of the loop with ego style tanks for a few years now and I am sure much has changed.

I am looking for recommendations of a good starter tank, preferably something that is possible to rebuild without being a total headache.

Also, she wants "cigarette" flavored liquid, which I never tried, we picked up a bottle we found at a store, but I know nothing about cigarette flavored liquids or how realistic they are capable of tasting, if anyone has some good recommendations on this as well, that would be great. Thanks.

You won't find anything that tastes "cigarette" flavored. I don't know of any juices that mimic the smoky burned flavor. The best you can do is get some that is tobacco flavored, with or without menthol. That flavor will be more like the smell/taste of the tobacco in a cigarette before you light it. I tried making the same request on the local shop when I started and settled on a straight menthol with no tobacco flavoring. I've tried a few tobacco flavored menthols at local stores and they are not bad. You just can't copy that burning taste easily, if at all.

Back when I used an ego (if I remember correctly), I used an ego to 510 adapter in order to use other tanks.
I was never a big fan of the evod, it seemed very problematic.
I think I used a Kanger Protank for awhile, but if it were today I think I would look at something like the Nautilus Mini.

I got started with PT mini's. Still use them when I'm out and about. The stock coils are pretty useless. It took me a while to get to where I could make decent coils and wicks with no leaking or dry hits. You said you wanted a rebuildable. Could try a Lemo Drop. They are easy to build on.

I didn't enjoy tobacco flavors when I started. I while ago I got some honey tobacco and really liked it, one of my favorites now. That was from a Nude Nicotine DIY flavoring, but they sell premade juice as well.

I remember "French Pipe" satisfying my need for a tobacco flavor when I first started. At that time I got it from heaven's gifts, but I think a lot of places carry it now.
Also, I've never tried, since I moved away to other flavors; but have heard mentioned "Dirty ash tray" flavor but forget who carries it. Maybe someone will come along who can point you to the maker.

'Dirty Ashtray" is from EC Blends... and yeah it tastes dirty to those who haven't smoked in a while, but to me, when I was a smoker, it tasted more like maple syrup.

The stuff I started with was Virginia, PG blend, from MyFreedomSmokes, and I thought it tasted remarkably like my Virginia Slims, but I don't think they carry it anymore. I did see a post here over a year ago, someone whining that MFS were just re-labeled DeKang flavors, so if you can find DeKang Virginia, that's probably worth a shot.

If you DIY, maybe some Inawera Dirty Neutral Base (DNB) all by itself... it's a Tobacco Absolute.

Nautilus is my pick. Gives off better satisfaction than the analogs, isn't going to make your lungs feel like it's filled up with sand. Even though I sub-ohm now exclusively, I've been debating getting a Nautilus again just because it's so awesome.

In terms of Cigarette flavors, some DIY shops do have flavors that taste similar to Camel, Tombstone, Marlboro Reds, etc. but they aren't going to be perfect. I would check online.

Save your money and time, she has to want to change and it doesn't sound like she does

2 Negative attitudes never accomplish anything.

My wife said I have NO reason or desire to quit. I simply responded, it is a choice and I respect Yours. I also expect you to respect mine.
Then whenever I accomplished a decent New DIY Flavor, I would ask her opinion of the mix.(Always loaded in an Ego/Clearo setup)
Eventually she started offering to finish off what I had left in the Clearo's since I use tanks regularly.
One day she basiclly just stopped smoking. I always check her equipment and make sure things are in proper working order.
She now has (2) of my IPV mini's and (2) Kayfun tanks filled with Non-Tobacco flavors.

I am aware she occasionally cheats, but she rarely does and is only vaping at 3mg/ml by choice.
* a nice side note - She removed the ashtrays because she felt they wreaked. :)

I also had no plans whatever to quit, when I started vaping -- I just wanted something I could use indoors on really cold nights. When I saw what a great substitute it was, I thought, why not? You never know if you don't try. :thumb:

Seems to me that most who start vaping with no plans to quit, but end up doing so, have little trouble quitting. Those who start vaping thinking it's going to mean a magical end to smoking... do have problems. There is no magic; you still have to make an effort. If you go into it thinking it's somehow going to do it for you, you're bound to be disappointed.

If you simply let go of smoking because you have something you like better, it's not traumatic, it's not difficult, it's just a natural progression from something stinky, expensive, and non-socially-acceptable, to something that doesn't stink, tastes better, costs a lot less, and is slightly more socially-acceptable -- at least, you can do it indoors in your own home, and probably friends' and family members' homes.
