Hey everyone. Thanks to everyone in the new member forum, I've decided to go with an eGo model (it's not a joyetech, but I decided on a knockoff for my first go because I get more for less money). Anyway, here is the kit eGo Vision Stardust & Extreme Vision Custom Kit 1100mAh Black or Silver. Anyway, since I'm new I wanted to order some cartos just to see what they were like, and after watching some reviews on youtube I decided to order these Smoktech Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer Black 5 pack. Anyway, my question is this: Are these OK to use with a regular, non-variable, 1100mAh battery? A couple of things I read say that dual coil cartomizers work better at higher voltages. To be clear, I don't care if they don't produce massive vapour, but I just want them to work OK and not damage my batteries. If I stick with vaping (I'm doing this to try to break my dependence on tobacco BTW) I'll probably buy some kind of variable-voltage device up sooner rather than later, but I just don't want to invest more than $100 up front (including a couple of weeks worth of e-juice, in 2-3 different flavours).

So what do you think? Will those cartos be OK to use on those batteries? Thanks!

Hi rob79!

They should work out for you just fine... but what will probably also happen, is that you'll get tons of vapor, but yet not a whole lot of flavor.

I have very similar 1100mah batteries, originally loved the dual coils. But then I discovered the Boge 2.0 "single-coil"cartos (about $1.00 each). I am now a bit embarassed that I posted so many "rave reviews" about the EMDCC's (Ego Mega Dual Coil Cartomizers) on this forum, when now I find the Boge single-coils to work out SO much better for me!

FYI my current favorite set-up is the 1100 mah KGO's (similar to EGO;s but cheaper to buy... and they start off at 4.2 volts of power off the charger..gradually reducing to 3.2 volts before they need a re-charge). Whereas the genuine Joyetech Ego's are a steady, flat 3.4 volts).

Cool, thanks for the tips... Maybe I'll order both to see which one I like best :)

I forgot to stress that the Boge, single-coil 2.0 ohm cartomizers should work beautifully, with your current battery set-up! :) You will get a warmer vape at less power required than the dual-coils

Cool! I already had some of those on my wish list as they seemed pretty standard and I've heard nothing but good things about Boge. Since I'm brand new I want to try a bunch of different stuff to see what I like best. I have those ones you mentioned (2.0ohm Boge single), stardust clearo, vision extreme clearo, and I'm thinking about those dual coil cartos just because. No tanks+atty stuff yet as I've heard they can leak, so I'm going to stick with the 1-piece stuff for a while at first :).

I might suggest two things.

1. Consider whether or not you really need a 1100mah battery. I vape constantly any my 650 easily lasts an entire 18 hour day, even when friends are hitting it when I am not.

2. Iv'e tried stardusts and dual cartos and well, you might want to try the stock ego-c tank system. I think it has gotten a lot of unfounded criticism on the forums. For me, the stock type A atty / tank combo provides cool, flavorful vapor with just enough throat hit. Some of the atomizers do take a bit of fiddling to get them to hit perfectly but they can be easily disassembled, cleaned with plain water, and adjusted dozens of times before having any flavor issues.
