Wondering how long a cotton wick will last. Just ordered my first rba (Taifun GS) and wondering how often I'll be rebuilding. I usually do about 3 ml a day (if that). Also, is there a perferable cotton that I can pick up locally, like at a pharmacy. Same for Kanthal?

Thanks gang.

Oh, last question. I'm using vision spinners. Is there a target Ohm that I should be shooting for with the build and what specs (gauge/wraps micro vs regular, etc) be on the build.

Thanks so much, gang.

How long cotton wicks last will depend on your juice and how dry you let them get. As with any wick, the darker juices will clog up a wick and usually require you to rewick within a day or two. On a clear liquid, you can expect 3-5 days.
Also, if you under power your coil, it can carmelize, rather than vaporize, your liquid.

However, you're not really rebuilding. If you've got a good coil, you just pull the wick out, dry burn your coil to burn the gunk, then rinse the coil off under water (and gently brush with an old tooth brush). You're coil is as good as new, so you just rethread some cotton in there, prime with a couple drops of juice, and you're off.

You can get organic cotton balls from any pharmacy. Just make sure they're 100% natural cotton balls. Its the only bag you'll ever need. However, you'll have to get your kanthal from a local vape shop or order online (ebay).

Most RBAs, the taifun included with perform best with a coil in the 1.2-1.5ohm range. 12 wraps of 28ga (microcoil), or 9 wraps of 30ga will get you there.

FYI, the Taifun is a BIG RBA and will not be stable on a Spinner. It'll work yes, and if your Taifun build is good, it shouldn't leak when its laying down, but that combo will look and feel awkward.

Taifun gs is a mini. Youre going to want to get some 400 stainless steel mesh and some organic cotton balls from walgreens etc. Trying to work with long cotton or silica wicks through the feed holes will be an exercise in futility and dry hits. Here is the manual, try build #1, but with a microcoil and cotton rather than the open coil and silica.

Edit: youll probably have to order the ss mesh online, pretty sure they dont have that at walgreens...

Great response from Rodeorat above. The only thing that I have to add is about the cotton. I've used sterile organic cotton balls with much success, but lately I've been using Peaches & Creme cotton yarn that is sold at Walmart. It is super easy to work with and to thread two pieces through a microcoil. I boil it in distilled water for 20 minutes and there is no taste to it. I buy the white color that I've read they whiten with hydrogen peroxide.

Koh Gen Do cotton is slowing acquiring more attention from the users on this forum. Give it a try and compare it to regular cotton. It's a big big difference. I'm not sure you want to try messing around with mesh quite yet. Mesh is very finicky and difficult to work with due to the shorts, depending on how you're building it. I did a full mesh build on my Kayfun and it was very difficult, but it was a pretty good vape. Had an odd taste though, but it was crisp and clean in the beginning. Depending on your juice, you may consider ceramic wicks (ReadyXwick). This stuff is pretty cool, but works better with thinner juices

Brick, the gs is different than the full size taifun or kayfuns in that the ss mesh does not contact the coil. The mesh only feeds the cotton/silica/rayon which is in the coil. You dont even have to oxidize it if you dont want to, though I do.
No wonder folks get so confused with these rebuildables. I know I am singling you out, but have you ever even touched a gs?
