I have no problems with 100% VG in my Subtanks as long as I use the RBA deck, 2.5 mm or 3 mm ID coils, and short-ish pancake wicking. OCC coils work tolerably for me but I know others will disagree.
And by 100% VG you guys mean store bought juices or DIY?
If it's ready made and says "100% VG" it means it doesn't contain PG but it doesn't mean it doesn't contain any water.
100% VG is what I would call a syrup. Most DIY juice makers are using between 10 - 20% water/flavor to dilute.
My home made all VG is, in reality, around 88%. The other 12% is made up of PG carrier for the flavouring.
That works in most things that have good wicking. Subtanks work ok at that ratio.
Actual 100% VG is not going to wick well in anything unless you can keep it warm enough to flow. Even at room temperature pure VG is too viscous....As yo han said, water is generally added.
I have Bobas Bounty and some 100vg purity blends from HHV and they work great in the Matrix and Crown tanks. I would normally do 50/50 or 70/30vgpg but that was gurgling in the Matrix.
Also helps that these tanks require higher wattage and get warm once you start gaping them.
