I'm new to DIY and have really only just started mixing. Since I'm as yet unfamiliar with most of my flavors, I've been starting at 10%. For some, that's enough, for other's it's too much (etc. etc.).
I was mixing up a small batch of Key Lime (TFA) to try and I found 10% too low. I added a bit more, then a bit more. At a certain point, the flavor was good, (around 17% I think), but it was a bit overwhelming. It made my mouth feel kind of sticky, and simply felt like the percentage of flavor was too high for the other components in the juice.
Is there a way to keep most of the taste of 17% (in this case) while still diluting it some? For example, I guess I'm basically asking if adding distilled H2O or PGA will greatly lessen the taste or if it should still stay relatively strong.
On a related note, what do you do to give your flavors a little more "oomph," for lack of a better term? A lot of the liquid I've made thus far seems quite delicate, and I like a little more zip to my joose.
Clearly, I'm still figuring out a few kinks
