It has taken me almost a year, but I finally completed my Wish List with the addition of my new GG and Ithaka.

I'm not a big user of mechanicals, though I have several. I have wanted a good mechanical for the longest time, and have had my eye on the GG since I got my Ithaka Clone about 5 months ago. Since then, I have wanted the Ithaka, matched to a GG, and thought I might never get there, as there were many things I wanted and needed on my list of coveted items that seemed more practical to me. And, let's face it, these are not inexpensive, and since I'm fairly new and all, in my first full year of vaping, and having been warned off the Ithaka by my friends as "too complicated," well, ten months later, here I am. And, boy am I delighted.

The recent talk about banning ecigs, etc. has caused me to accelerate my purchasing timelines on several items, including my new 2 liters of 100 mg nicotine bases, one in PG and one in VG. So, while I would have preferred to stretch out my purchases over time, I was literally scared that I might never get some of these devices, or be able to vape any longer with looming restrictions. I don't know a lot about the potential deeming regulations coming, or exactly how they may affect me and others, but I wanted to make sure that my wish list was taken care of it. I have wanted the best APV's, mechanicals and hybrids, well, really since I started vaping. I has taken me six months of rebuilding, starting with clearo coils, then gennies, kayfun's, various drippers, the Ithaka, etc. to get a wee bit of ways along my RBA path. If there are, for example, 25 steps along this path, I'm at step 2 probably. So, while I may be a little out in front of my current experience, but I figure I have a lifetime ahead to learn to use these with precision and proficiency.

The reason for my post is that I'm just so excited to tell you about my latest VapeGear, but also to ask you how you use your Ithaka and Ithaka-like RBA's and GG PV's, your coil setups, battery setups, etc., and try to find out what works best for you guys/gals. I have used my Ithaka clone now for a while and seem to be okay with marrying resistance and non-resistance wire and getting a very good vape. I haven't tried anything super fancy yet, not even dual coils on the Ithaka yet, but I do believe that these RBA's are the future of vaping for me. Any suggestions, recommendations, guidance, etc. would be greatly appreciated. I have used ready wires and made my own wire and coils, but all pretty basic stuff, so I'm interested to hear about your experiences, and maybe learn a little bit about what I can expect with both the Ithaka and the GG. Thanks for all your help!

Is that an ithaka clone in the pic?

No, that's the real deal #6127 from Clouds of Vapor (Ithaka). It's a real Just GG also (Just GG). I do have an Ithaka clone that I got from Fasttech some months back ($35.22 Ithaka Adjustable Rebuildable Atomizer (4.0mL) at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping). That's what I used to see if I would like the setup. Obviously, I did. This is an example where the clone led to the purchase of an Ithaka, and not away from an Ithaka, i.e., the evil clone empire.
