so i've decided to go with the GG slim. i figure this is a good model to start with. i'm used to using 808D2 (ie greensmoke) and dripping my own juice into blank cartomizers. i've stayed away from atomizers/three piece systems after having a horrible experience with BLU cigs which i found to be garbage.

my question is:

1. if i were to go with an atomizer on the slim, which is better the 901 or the 510? any difference between the two? advantages/ drawbacks?

2. do atomizer (3 piece) systems produce higher quality vapor than cartomizer (2 piece) setup on the GG slim?

thanks.

Hi Shaun

1. 510 gives better throat hit 901 more flavour

2. would not use cartomizers due to burning of filler material + plus vapour production is poor compaired to l/r atomizers

personaly use l/r 510's or 901's with no problems which can be purchased in packs of 5 very cheaply ie about £20 in uk and last about 2 weeks each so £2 per week
know they say use bigger battery for l/r atomizers but i'v been using 10440's unprotected for mnths without problems
L'R 510 or 901 with drip tip on a Slim is superb

i could never get cartos to produce like atomizers. i stick to my 901 on my slim. it makes great flavor and produces enough vapor to satisfy me. i'm sure the 510 would work just as well, but you'd need to put an adaptor on the slim and that would take away from the appeal of the small size.

i agree with sad, that 510 give better TH and more vapor and 901's seem to give less of a background taste, and just give you the flavor of the liquid itself.

Neither here nor there
Hey sadtranz,
I am just starting with my GGSlim, an have tried LR510 atoms on it.
They are good while they last, but I think my 10440 batts just can's handle the LR atom very well. I get about 1 hour on a battery.
Can you tell me what kind of battery life you're getting with the LR atoms? And what brand of batteries are you using? I only have the blue ones.
Thanks!

you can try trustfire 3.7v 600 mah over at VaporKings but these batteries are over rated. I get about an hour of heavy vaping out of them and that is with LR 510 atties.

If your going to use the slim I highly recommend getting either Premium cartos or getting a GG 901 to 510 attie adapter from Vapor Kings (VK) and getting the boge 510 cartos they are awesome. They produce a ton of vapor and they are not as hard on the battery so you migh get an extra half hour of the batteries life.

Same battery i use the blue trust fire and yes only last about an hour heavy use but only lasted about an hour with standard 901 atty so not noticed any difference

Just a note that not all LR atties are the same.
The original Joye LR atty at 1.5 ohm was intended for use on the eGo at around 3.4V. I do not recommend using a 1.5 ohm atty on standard 3.7V batteries although some people like them. I find it tastes completely burnt to me.

I've specced my own LV atties at a slightly higher resistance and they tend to perform a lot better with normal 3.7V batteries.

All atties are not equal and a lot of sellers don't know what they are selling...........

i've been reading about the premium cartos. i suppose i'll use those although i'm still skeptical of using anything wth filler material that can burn.

i found some 10440 trustfire protected batteries $5 for a pair and a charger so i suppose thats a good route to begin with the GG Slim until the 2nd generation cartos (filler-less) are either invented or released to the US.

dont forget even regular atties have a wick inside of them that is of the same material as the filler. :)

I think the general consensus seems to be that todays Carto's only burn if their allowed to get dry. I personally have been running 3 cartos in rotation for over 30 days and after chopping one up notice nothing more then some minor staining. This after running about 45ml through the set of three on a 3.7 v Bartleby

And no the wick is not made of the same material as the filler material.

I'd beware of early reports on these from potential vendors (until they have been tested more widely).
The idea sounds very interesting in theory - but the Chinese have been rather secretive about how they work so I will make my own judgements when my samples arrive. I understand the 808s are only going to be available from one seller in the US though..........

If I think they are up to scratch, you might be seeing them on my site soon.
If I don't, you won't - simples :D

V4L Has the exclusive on the KR808 from what I have heard, I ordered some of these and I am awaiting them to try also, will report back when I have used them as well Lisa. The way I am looking at it is this, Steve over at V4L would not have signed an exclusive with this company for an exclusive rights deal unless they where dam good, so im getting some to try out.!!

Understood, however, I'm not trusting enough to base decisions directly on premature rumours - look how many people got burned on the Carlos juice brick box because they bought it on pure hype. Steve's got to say they are fantastic whether they are or aren't because he's obviously invested very heavily in them.

I don't trust a lot of things in the vaping world now unless I've them myself.
