Hi, I recently purchased a GGTS, but have no idea what metal it is made out of. From what I know it can either be aluminum, nickel, or stainless steel. How can I identify which it is?

Thanks!

A wavy ripple of blue light appears in the atmosphere and YardByrd is suddenly there! His platinum YB medallion is glowing orange and you hear a deep, male, smooth, translated Latin Voice:

"Hail and greetings IKAG! I believe that a magnet can test your GGTS. Bronze will not attract a magnet; stainless steel will. I reccomend re-posting or searching the GG thread for this information.

Be well, my friend, and keep up the good carpentry work!"

Yardbyrd opens his beak and a very loud CAW comes out as lines of turbulence disturb the air again, in a similar rippling effect. As these ripples pass over him he wavers, wobbles, smears and disappears.

Thanks YB! It is not magnetic, though I thought not all stainless steel was?

Anyway, here are some pictures.

it doesnt look like the engraved tube is thick enough my alum has more of a squared off end to the tube than my SS which is more rounded and i have noticed this on a lot of others as well
the alum is on the right and the 2 on the left are SS if you look on the inside where the engraved tube / telescope is its more squared of and if you look at the SS it looks more rounded

after zooming in and seeing what i was seeing i have come up with this.....

in the alum tube they seem to start a bit further into the tube and you cant see the thread ring
