Is there anything wrong with just handwashing the SS GGTS (taken apart) in warm soapy water, like doing dishes? Are there any parts that shouldn't go it the water? I only have the basic SS GGTS, no extra parts like the iAtty or UFS (yet )
I don't see anything wrong with it moonlight. I normally soak mine (ggts and ufs disassemble of course) in a soapy warm water and then just rinse it with running water and finally drying it up with a micro fiber cloth.. all parts goes into the water except for the top and bottom caps... but I'm now thinking of using ultrasonic cleaners.. I'm hoping there'll be a difference..

I have had great luck with mine. Gets my SS really sparkly and I haven't had an atty die in 2 months. When they start to taste funny I throw them in for 20 minutes with Vodka and they come out vaping better than when I bought them.
I would take it apart to clean the inside of it. I cleaned it once without taking it apart and some residual moisture remained inside the switch. After I put the GG back together I used it a few minutes then laid it down on it's side. A couple minutes later I picked it back up to vape and it would not fire at all. Come to find out, that residual moisture had pooled, then ran down the button onto the center post and semi shorted out. It created a layer of carbon on both the bottom of the switch and the center post preventing a good contact. In reality, I was very lucky that it did no short out completely!!!
