PGA is a tad better, but ISO is fine. Rinse with water and dry with a clean towel after the soak. Just make sure the ISO does not contain any fragrance.

Use 90% ISO or higher if possible.
It evaporates faster due to less water.
Replace any O rings as thats probably where the flavor is hiding.

I soaked myself in PGA years ago. When I came to, I still stunk. And I didn't recognize my surroundings. And people no longer spoke English. Haven't touched the stuff since.
I removed the o rings, cleaned it really good, dropped it and let it soak in ISO
I soaked it in a 50% ISO last night, gave it another good scrubbing and smell still there faintly but still there lol.. it almost reminds me of the seasoning packet to Ramen lol.. anyways.. I'll let it dry over night... check it in the morning and if it still smells I'll try the it again, clean it up real good with hot water and soap, then let it sit 90% ISO over night again..
I could as easily through it out but... I don't like to throw things away lol.. I tried last night and was picking it out of the top of the trash can 5 minutes later lol
Just removed or renewed?
Dont give up, it should come out, its stainless...but if you can live without it and wouldnt miss it...ebay? [emoji87]

I threw out the old o-ring and picking up new ones later on. But the cap still had that faint smell. Without the o ring on it lol.

I missed this earlier.
Iso will work better than PGA.
And its a fraction of the cost.
All the alcohol will evaporate leaving zero residue and ISO is perfectly safe to use as long as you dont drink it.
If that cap is metal, then you need to clean it better.
Its not porous so the flavor is "on" it, not "in" it.
Worst case.. Torch it.
That'll solve the taste issue.
