Theres alot of sick new box mods gittin the market soon and one thats caught my eye is the gi2...id like an authentic but ive been seeing the clones online in a few different places...has anyone had any experience with the psmoke Gi2 clones? Lookin to get a new box mod and lookin at the new sigelei 100w,cloupor t8,ipv3, and Gi2 clones....got some mech and my beloved authentic ipv2 but Wana add one to the family....I'm definitely torn on this one<br/>
In my opinion, just me estimating based on talking to friends of mine that have been hands on with it, and reading any info I could find, the gi2 is for someone that likes to tinker and is expecting some kinks and bugs along the way. It's a very extensive firmware and software package with some crazy real time sensors and monitoring on the authentic prototypes. I'm an IT guy so I have a lot of interest. It's probably not the device to recommend to someone who wants a device that performs 100% right all the time with no bugs. With more advanced features and programming, especially at launch and in time recent to launch, there's going to be some bug finding, updates, changelogs, and then new bugs, it's just not possible especially on such a small budget, to create something that has no growing pains.
That being said, the other devices are being heavily mass produced with money saved on labor often, and with the numbers where they will probably be and production costs being so low per unit, there's going to be some defective devices and updateable firmware is going to bring a new batch of problems that vapers aren't used to seeing. With the price point being around $100, I've got some devices ordered that I bought with gambling money. By gambling money, I mean money I can afford to spend on something and not be surprised if there's problems.
I had an IPV2 failure, it's now a fancy paper weight. I still went with the IPV3 as far as device most likely to produce happy vapors in my lungs. Then I started hearing from Sigeli owners, and started to doubt my decision until I started hearing about bugs showing up, although they were basically testing the device prototypes. The GI2's are so sparse, the fact that they have more bugs in the early system versions but no catastrophic failures I've heard of could be because of the numbers game. So I'm back to betting the IPV 3 has as good a chance as any of them.
Last time I checked the Cloupor T8 wasn't verified to not have the specs they advertise in sub ohm ranges they advertise, which is what the T5 has had some problems with.
I'd definitely be more confident about paying $300 for an Evolv DNA chip'd mod than $150 for some of the other ones. I started vaping on a DNA, put it through hell, dropped it, carried it everywhere in my truck either slinging it on the seat or in a cardboard box full of RDA's and building supplies, slept with it, dropped it off the bed, etc and it's outlasted or outperformed all my clone devices, including many that didn't have electronics, but had problems like sharp edges causing performance issues or poor machining.
