My wife's birthday and mothers day is round the corner. I've tried reading all this forum and I'm overwhelmed. I'm begging the help of the members here to just kinda say "buy this" and I'll buy it. My mother smokes around 3 packs of marlboro menthol light 100 a day and she needs something fairly straight forward and easy. I want to set her up with everything she will need for at least a month.

My wife smokes about half a pack of marlboro light 100 a day and her set up can be a bit more fancy if there are useful mods or whatever they are. She would also like flavors I think. Money does not matter as long as it's a quality product that does what it's supposed to do at all times. Extra batteries or whatever else I need would be great.

Thanks a bunch in advance, I really appreciate it.

For a really heavy smoker, I would go with a mod. You'll get much longer battery life, great consistency and versatility. My personal favorites are the Darwin sold on nhaler and a reo. The Darwin is a very easy usb charged unit that you adjust the watts by a dial depending how strong you like your vape and you can use any atomizer you want and it will adjust itself. The reo is a juice mod. Put in the battery, fill the juice bottle, put on an atomizer and your good to go.

My mother smoked 2+ packs a day and smoked for 60 years. She quit with the V4L KR808. That's why I recommended it. They have cartos that go up to 36 mg. It wouldn't be my first choice, but it's definitely what a lot of people, especially women seem to like here. She may or may not use it forever but it will give her a satisfying vape.

My mom mostly vapes her riva now but she needed something a little more cigarette-like to get her vaping.

I can only give a suggestion based on my preference, not arguing with you. I know many don't feel the need to move to a mod, but there are many many that do. My points are factual, they do provide better battery life and versatility. All comes down to if they don't mind the initial start up cost and how much they want it to stay small.

I smoked for 27yrs and an ego/Riva/510 would never have been enough for me. I needed less fuss, more consistency and a stronger vape. All personal preference.

If his mother smokes 3pad, doubt a small 510 will do it!

OP doesn't seem to want to wait 3 months or more for a Reo or Darwin to be in stock.

A KR808 in a nice color, to start, then after mom is more used to vaping a fat battery
in 808 threads will be an easy upgrade.

be alittle new to this and quit 3weeks ago from a 15 years habbit , i wish i had gone right to a bigger batt, an something with a tanks or a smart cart ....... batt life and filling of the carts have been a bit of a pain but worth it to kick the habbit,, but i still like the 510 for the look and feel.......
Maybe try 510 tank kit if she like is then move to something with a bigger bat

just my 2 cents

Wow, everyone at this board is testy tonight. It never occured to me that you were arguing, just saying what worked for someone I know. Relatively speaking, starter kits aren't that much- not much more than a carton of cigarettes. If you start with something fairly simple that's not like sucking a milkshake through a straw, most people can tell fairly quickly if vaping is for them. If they love it but aren't getting the oomph they need, they can move up. They might just stay with it.

Me, I'm happy with my ego and can't see getting anything else. No point to it really. But it's only been three months for me and I may change my mind.

I tried the smart carts and tanks, I'm back to cartos. If I would have started with a tank and had the problems I did, I probably would have quit vaping if it was my first pv.

Actually, just an FYI, Darwins come in to stock every week or two, reos are a bit harder. Another batch I heard scheduled for next week, but you'd have to jump fast. Many mods are hard to get, but you can't assume all will be that way.

I'm sry if I misunderstood your post, but mod owners get Rly tired being shouted down in newbie threads...which happens all the time. The op said a no fuss, reliable unit no matter cost. That describes a mod. Just my personal opinion.

I would get a KR808D-1 to start. They're a great transition device- you still get the same "ritual" of smoking and they're nice and small for stashing in a pocket or bag. That's how I started out and now I just moved on to a REO Grand, though I doubt I would have taken to vaping so well if I started with one. If nothing else, starting with a small model like the 808 allows you to get used to the huge difference in weight.

The mods mentions are wonderful advanced models and so long as mom knows what wattage she prefers to vape, and how to bottom feed they will work fine.

You had asked for
she needs something fairly straight forward and easy
, so a simple single voltage 808 or 510 with some simple cartos are a good starting place. :)

Not all people take to vaping, I would go with one of the base models recommended earlier in this thread before leaping into the big boy mods they are quite pricy and if your loved ones turn out to not like vaping you will be out a good deal of money...also the big mods could be excellent Christmas presents down the road.

The Darwin is a long black box with a swivel mouthpiece Evolv, LLC

And the Reos look like cell phones. reosmods.com

I completely understand. It does seem like sometimes the only suggestions given are for RIVA...Liberty Flights... etc. etc. Mod owners or owners of other PV's must get a little sick of it.

I can only suggest what I have or what I've tried. I definitely think mods are the way to go for a lot of people.

For his mom and wife, I think a simple 510 or KR808 might be a good starting point. Not that I don't think they wouldn't like an ego. Sorry, couldn't resist.

If I were doing the gifting I'd go to Liberty Flights, click their 20% discount in the upper left corner of the page and buy them EACH a Joye 510 eGo Standard Bundle (Titanium is wicked classy), a pack of Boge 2.5 ohm cartomizers, and a 510 type D delrin drip tip. Then I'd start adding assorted flavors of 5 ml bottles of eliquid to the cart figuring between 3 to 5 ml per person per day, 18 and/or 24 mg nicotine/ml, some PG, some VG. But that's just me.

That was pretty much my exact order when I first started, including the drip tips! Been loving it ever since. Except I got the black. A little boring I know.
