Mornings as long as I can remember have always been my computer time with a few cups of coffee and 4 or 5 cigs to get my day started. It was also what I was dreading giving up the most! A few days into it and I don't know why I was worried. Coffee with a sprinkle of cinnamon is a much more pleasant taste experience with banana pudding than it ever was with those stinkys. Granted, it's only been a few days for me and my brain is still telling me I'm missing something but I have every confidence those thoughts will be a thing of the past soon.

Isn't it amazing? I thought mornings would be my tough time but it turns out vaping is so much more pleasurable with coffee and computer than that nasty harsh smoke. I also expected to need a higher nic level first thing in the morning but it seems vaping (even with a low nic level) with a cup of coffee is plenty for me. So glad it's working for you too.

Mornings were my hold out also! Oct 2012 2+packs a day of Swisher Sweet Little cherry cigars, I started with 3 packs and new vape gear.. 4 weeks later, I smoked the last one..
Almost 18 months now.. I get that strange little craving for something that I know tastes nasty, but that is very fleeting and I've never gone back!

Quiting analogs sucked for me, It's not that vaping didnt satisfy me it was because I was so used to smoking.

It's almost like having to learn to walk again, I was so used to doing everything while smoking (Driving, Playing cards, Shooting guns etc.) it was difficult to not smoke while doing those things.

You are so right, ledbetter, the routines that we've built around smoking are a hard thing to get past when we give up the cigs.

I'm finding that vaping a coffee like juice (like MBV's Morning Vape) in the morning with my morning coffee has been a great replacement to my ciggs & coffee love that I previously had. Granted there's the actual physical aspect that I miss sometimes of holding a cigg between my fingers and flicking the ash off while I drink coffee, but it's not so bad that I want to go buy a pack of Camels. :)

I've been very lucky as vaping has allowed me to easily drop my 43 year affair with cigarettes. Today is day 56. No cravings but hard to break habits. I'll be busy doing something when I suddenly look up and start glancing around for something thinking…what am I looking for? Then I suddenly realize I'm looking for a cigarette. That's when I remember…oh yea, I don't smoke anymore…grab my vape and forget about it. I'm still amazed.

that's similar to my experience. when i switched to ecigs i found that i missed the head rush i used to get from the first smoke of the day. i'm talking an "i need to sit down or lean against something" rush. then someone explained that the reason e-cigs don't give the same buzz is because it's the carbon monoxide in tobacco cigs that restrict oxygen to the brain which is largely responsible for the head rush. now, i'm not sure how true that is but just thinking about it was enough to help me get over missing that morning buzz.

My first week of vaping I found myself reaching for my cigarette pouch that wasn't there. Not that I wanted a smoke. It was because I sat down at my computer with my first cup of coffee and THAT was the next step in my morning routine. I also found that I was looking for the ashtray everytime I picked up bits and pieces off the floor. Now when I do the laundry, got to be sure to check my pockets!

That right there is probably the ONLY thing I miss about smoking.

Some of us can switch easier than others. I had it pretty hard. Just don't make that morning cigarette an easy option. Keep the PV bed side so it's the first thing you reach for in the morning. The butts belong some place you have to work at to get one - like in the closet. If you feel you have to have that morning cigarette at least you will be trying the PV first, and then going to get the cigarette - if you still think you want it.

The other thing that worked for me was using a higher nic level to start the day. That isn't to be chasing after a nicotine buzz - you can make yourself sick doing that. But a higher nic level for those "craving holes" during the day helped a lot.

I found that if I didn't have a pack of cigs laying around I went into panic mode but at the same time if I had them in the house I smoked them. So I stored a pack in my locked candle shop but I can't smoke out there because it'll stink up my candles....

So in order to have a cig I had to go outside and walk to my shop unlock the door, get a cig then walk to my new smoking area which I picked to be our basement. I picked that area because I don't like it in there. It's damp and musty with spiders. So far it's working, there are cigs close by but it's just too much work to go through to get them :)

I am with you guys/gals. I vape fruity cereal blend in the AM. :) More over I vape ice cream-ish stuff at night. Same as what I would eat while smoking. I like it.
