There are many success stories here. After reading a LOT of them, I can tell you that no two are alike. One person's account of success isn't always what works for you. Some have taken months to wean themselves off analogs, others make the jump and never go back from day 1. The trick is doing what is comfortable for you. I've read quite a few accounts where they have set goals of reducing the number of real smokes over time (cut out 5 per day this week, then 5 more per day the next, etc) and then they suddenly realize they are off before their schedule had them quitting. I love those stories.
Mine is a little different because I forced myself off. Bought a starter kit for a business trip and took no analogs with me. the first few days I had a tendency to chain and vaped almost non-stop. But by the time I got back home, I didn't feel the need for the sticks any more. I tasted one accidentally and couldn't stand the taste. Because I was a menthol smoker, I thought that the liquid needed to be as close to the taste of smoking as possible. My liquid for the first
three weeks was a strong menthol flavor. Since then I've been exploring other flavors and now have 4 that I rotate
through during the day.
Through this all, my wife has been watching and asking questions. She is still smoking and it doesn't bother me a bit. She thinks I'm crazy for going after these "strange" flavors ("Shouldn't it taste like smoking?"). But she does see the need to make the change herself. She's not ready yet and I'm not pushing. At least she'll benefit from my experience and won't start with a 650mah battery and a CE4. At this point she doesn't complain about what I spend since I've only spent about half what I would on cartons.
