Hello all. Just like to say that I've been lurking around these forums the last two or so days, ever since I actually decided to go the ecig route.

Been smoking for about a year and a half. I didn't really think it'd be so hard to quit smoking after such a short time. Boy was I wrong.

I had seen ecigs online before, and had shown some interest in them. Primarily for the health benefit vs the traditional "analogs" that produce all that nasty sh**. The only problem for me was the price tag and my lack of knowledge in regards to which ecig would be good for me.

A couple days ago, I went into a local 24/hour store here in my town, and bought an njoy King disposable for $8 - based on a friend's recommendation. Started vaping that, and I was actually quiet impressed. I had tried an ecig before, but I never actually had one of my own.

I ended up buying three of those, which is a rip off due to the fact that they don't last nearly as long as advertised.

So, based on some recommendations I found on this forum, I went online and ordered a Volt. Just the basic kit. That is all I need for now.

However, because I am so impatient, don't want to go back to the traditional cigs, and can't justify spending more on the njoy Kings, I went to my local walmart and bought a Mistic, since I've read here about them a tad bit.

So far, not too bad. I am enjoying it thoroughly. It's been a different experience from smoking, but this I can see as being the 100% replacement. I only had half a cig yesterday morning before cashing my check and buying the Mistic. Then later in the night, I took a drag off of one of my smoking friend's cig just to see what the real difference in taste and feel was. Ya, I didn't like the taste of the analog anymore. Gross. Can't believe I've been smoking.

Anyway, waiting for my Volt to arrive, and enjoying my Mistic till then. We'll see which one I prefer once the Volt does arrive. Until then, I'm covered. And doing the math, even the Mistic will save me money in the long run compared to analogs.

Welcome to ECF and congratulations on taking the step to quit smoking.
That's so great you're doing it so early. You're going to save yourself years of destroying your body.

I too have a Volt in the mail after hearing such great things about it. Should be receiving it tomorrow!

You'll find everything you ever wanted to know on these forums, so enjoy your stay!

Welcome to ECF. Gratz on switching. I personally enjoy vaping. I have never used a Vamo nor have I heard of a Mistic. I have however read and watched many reviews of the Vamo and people seem to love it.

Me personally I want a Provari just can't afford it yet.

While I think he said he had a Volt in the mail, I also have a Vamo on the way! :D So exciting.

:) Thanks all for the warm welcome.

SilentScreams, I bought the Mistic at WalMart. As I understand it though, it can also be purchased online directly. I just got it to hold me over till the Volt arrives, and this way I'll be able to go to my local WalMart if I ever need to buy a pack of cartos quickly.

Since I can't figure out how to put in a signature (probably requires me to have a specific amount of posts first anyway), I'll just post this banner here so I can keep track of aprox. how many analogs I've avoided.

Welcome to the boards. I just joined last night myself. Almost too much information to sift through on these boards, so I am sure we will be able to find plenty of good info. I was surprised to even find the chat room and went there for a few minutes.

Just bought my eGo C this morning from a B&M and have not had a cigarette since. Will see how it goes. I do have an unopened pack in my pocket.

Another new convert here, after 25 years of smoking I have finally found what I've been looking for.

Meaning, you've been smoking five years longer than I've been alive. lol

I'm glad to be rid of those nasty cigs once and for all. Even after such a short time, they still get you hooked real good, and I've learned that the hard way.

Now, the trick for me is to gauge how much I vape so that way I don't go through a catridge so quickly. I already went through my first cartridge out of five. In order for me to really save, I've got to slow down a small bit until I am used to it.

Congrats my friend. :)

If I were you, I'd save those cigarettes for a time in which you either have a dead battery (good to get a secondary one as a backup) or run out of cartridges and don't have the time to run to the store to pick some up.

However, if you play your cards right, I'm sure those things shouldn't be a problem. I won't go buy a new pack of cigs that's for sure.

Welcome! I smoked 40 years and switched to vaping in June 2012. My only concern is our government taking vaping from us since I am definitely addicted to nicotine. I love vaping and have switched from the slim cigarette models to the Volt X2 batteries and clearomizers, constantly charging batteries drove me nuts on the slim type. The new set up has made me a very happy vaper. Good luck to you!

Ya, that's a concern I myself share. I sure hope that our government wont take these away. It just wouldn't be right. Appears to me as if our country has turned into a dictatorship in which the dictators are the ones with the money. It's just sad and pathetic.
