Hi Everyone,
So I have been NOT smoking for about 3 weeks and after tons of research decided to start out on a 3.7 510, 2.6-2.8 clearomizer, and wide mouth metal driptip. I am also creating my own juices, so here's the problem... Of course I am additively reading and watching tons of information and have recently seen that ppl are having their clearomizer/fluxomizer MELT. Now I quit smoking to have less worries (which was great) and now my fears have returned! What the hell is this all about?!? LOL After reading a bunch of threads ppl are either saying its certain juice flavors or it's the chemical makeup of the plastic on the clearomizer. I've taken note of what flavor juices to steer clear from, but now I need help or advice from you guys on where I can find a glass clearomizer or a piece that is going to give me the same advantages of the 2.6-2.8 clearomizer...
Thank you for your time,
BeeBee

First I don't know if I would want glass. I'm pretty rough with mine. mod yours with a BD syringe. Only BD syringes will work. The plastic in the BD syringes can handle any liquid your throw into it. Cinnamons or any oils have a tendency to want to "eat" the plastic tubes. Also the manufacturer tubes stink...they crack too easily. Mod them and you won't have a problem.

To mod, simply pull apart your clearomizer and lay it along side of your syringe tube. Mark both ends and score them with a pipe cutter. Cut with a box cutter. Put new tube on, refill, place your caps back on and vape.

Congrats on the 3 weeks and welcome to ECF.

LOL (at myself) ... I know this is going to sound a little funny but is there anything that is constructed of the same material as a BD syringe but doesn't O' I don't know...look like a syringe? LOL
Aesthetics hairball aesthetics...I'm trying to represent here, especially to my friends and family that still smoke. I don't know how influencing it would be for me to walk in a room sucking on a battery operated syringe LOL
On a serious note though, I think I've seen a video on that mod and I'll definitely look into it.
Thank you so much for getting back to me and the warm welcome! *Smiles*

Well I'm definitely in your thought pattern...I didn't think of the whole thing being glass but at least the portion stated above...hmm

Maybe someone did it already but I was also thinking it would be a great way to grab a customers interest and especially new people.
It sounds funny now but the very first time I saw e-cigs I actually assumed (don't ask me why) that some kind of 'tobacco' must be pushed into the long end (imagining where tobacco goes in the old style cigarettes) and then for some reason I thought a battery was where the atomizer was and then some filter (like in analogs) at the mouth tip heheheh.

I think if they did show me a transparent e-cig I would have been more intrigued more quickly and even feel better about the first buy.

Well anyways - anyone comes up with one they ought to remember us hehehe... call it the Beebee Prox design ;) :p

Think one made of UNBREAKABLE glass would be great, really like seeing the level juice, but it would most cost too much and be too thick to hold much juice. Like the juice amount of the big tanks, just not the size. Been using the clear ce2's for about 2 weeks and haven't seen any cracks YET, also haven't had any burnt vapes because I stop using one when the juice gets low.

@ OldDragon,
Have you seen any of the videos that show the CE2 melting/dissolving? I just received my clearomizers two days ago so far so good. The only down so far would be that when you vape with just the standard cap that comes with it, it kinda burns the lip. I just put the metal driptip back on it again, but those videos are friggin scary.
I have still been looking into what the factual answers are such as, is it a specific company and other distributors are selling them or are ppl getting juices from a specific company causing what's happening to occur? I was finding that alot of ppl on ecig forums from Dutch are having this problem. I keep reading the updated posts to see if they can put the pieces together...from what its sounding like their generally getting their liquid from the same company. If your interested in the answer I can hit you up when its concluded!
As far as the glass goes EXACTLY!!! I'm completely serious about making this piece and can't wait to see what happens! *Smiles*

I would totally be paranoid about that glass breaking. I donno bout you, but I would be more afraid of any potential glass in my mouth cutting me, than a burnt or hazardous plastic thing.

Thus far my experience of the clearomizers has been mixed. I've only been using them for a week and I've found that if you vape too fast, you don't give the wick enough time for the juice to seep up to the element and you get a burnt taste. If you take the time to allow the wick to refill, you will get a good taste over and over again. I would imagine that a really thick juice would be even more of a problem with this particular issue.

If you are really that concerned about the plastic burning, you can get the same thing in a metal enclosure that doesn't burn.

If traveling about and you're using a clearomizer, you may want to be using an eGo (not standard 510) battery because the decorative cone will give it some support, and you can quickly loosen the cone to check the juice level.

Been using them for a month and never had one try to 'melt' - and I vape long, hard and hit them several times in a row fast.

I have the reg. and the xl clearomizers for about a month, and Have had Zero problems, no cracking or leaking they just work great, I really do like them. They are flexible, so I do not see how they have a cracking problem and they have O-rings that seal them, so again I do not see how they could leak. As far as melting goes I don't see how thats possible, unless maybe using at a very high voltage or a low resistance clearomizer?? The ones I have are CE2-- 3.0 to 3.2 Ohm clearomizers. Maybe some juice does damage the plastic tube but none of mine have.

@ armnation,

I was totally thinking pyrex glass, but there is still a problem with pyrex. As a drip tip its safe because it's set away from any heating element and it's only receiving the heat of the vape, which is minimal. As a glassomizer its touching heating elements. Now pyrex is freezer safe and heat safe glass by slowly being exposed from normal room temperature to freezing and room temperature to whatever degrees you're using in an oven, and in a microwave that heat focuses from the center out. So, pyrex can crack and break if its defrosted to fast or heated to fast...ex going from freezer to oven, from oven to freezer, whatever combo you can imagine. As I researched, there are alot of ppl actually having problems their pyrex items shattering and exploding just by transfering their cookware to water after serving dinner, so I'm leaving them alone. I want something safer and I believe I'm onto a good lead now... I'm pretty excited too!

Pyrex get the guys from theecig company to do it :O

That would be rad My pyrex glass 510 and 306 drip tips are freaking awesome.

The pyrex glass on my 306 I've been using for a week now has yet to even feel too hot or transfer too much heat to my lips I

think if there was glass that could make a glassomizer it would be pyrex.

Thas what i was gonna say....pyrex...
get in touch with them! they know how to make glass that handles the heat and then u dont have to be afraid of shards in your mouth...
maybe shards on the floor...
but that thing would look so cool i think i would carry it around like it scepter...waving it around...people bowing down...lol
=)

A cut down syringe looks about the same as the clearo sleeve to me. The numbers will rub right off the syringe easily. The plastic of a BD syringe has a slight milky tint to it, but it's still pretty clear.

On the flavors that eat clearo sleeves: The one that did this to me was a cinnamon flavor. First the sleeve turned cloudy...and after a few days it got 'brittle' and cracked. No biggie...I got several days use out of it...was able to do the syringe mod and am still vaping on it weeks later (about 20ml vaped through it).
