Hello, America

My name's Di, and I've been vaping for a year, come July.
I've also been melting glass for a couple of years, and have been playing with ecig tips for several months, now.
The difference with mine is that I don't do o-rings. I'll leave that to more accomplished glassworkers - I can't for the life of me get the sizing right for fitment while at the torch.

So I've gone down the DIY road (similar to DIY mixing or atties etc), using silicone shrink wrap which is easily replaceable and good for customising to the different fitments out there. They're essentially made for the standard Boge carto, but can be customised to fit the smaller ones like the F16/17 cartos; or ViviNovas etc. Spare cut-to-size wrap is supplied for replacement or resizing. A small butane torch is the best tool for shrinking the wrap on.

The other work I do is for the stainless steel adaptors. I do sleeves for these, and supply the adaptors as well. The adaptors are made to fit standard Boge cartos, and have o-ring fitment for the carto and the sleeve. These are generally larger than the all-glass tips, because they're made on a larger mandrel, to fit over the adaptor.

Here are some examples of what I've done up til now.

And this is a custom PV charm I was asked to make:

As you can see, I love putting a bit of humour into my stuff. I love to admire beautiful, perfect things, however that's really not my style, so I like to experiment a bit with shapes and colours, and in that process, precision and exactness go out the window in favour of a more freeform, relaxed style. I prefer to do more stylised, or simplified versions of things.

I don't torch full-time. I get a few hours a couple of times a week to play in my workshop.
I'm more than happy to have a go at making most things, but am also happy to refer you on to someone much more accomplished if it's out of my skill range, which happens a lot, when complicated or precise designs are requested. But I do like to at least have a go. Sometimes something fabulous can arise out of a 'failure'

I ship from Australia. Cost of postage only is charged, and to the US, it gets quite expensive for parcels that exceed the 20mm slot thickness. A real PITA, because there is nothing between A$2.60 and A$13.70! So larger sculpturals would cost a lot more to ship, unfortunately.

Pricing is on piece-by piece basis at this stage. The adaptor tips are a lot more expensive, mostly because the adaptors themselves are pricey. For instance, the items on this page range from A$14 to A$27 plus shipping.
I'm looking forward to answering questions, either via PM or on the thread.
Nice to meet you, and thanks for looking :)

Thanks very much all who've responded or messaged a welcome :) :)

This page is a work in progress, and having gauged levels of interest, I'll work on putting things for sale here in the next couple of days.
I've got some workshop time later today, when I'll get some new things done and posted.
More info on how to get one if you like anything then, too.
Have a great day :)

I recently picked up a few handmade glass driptips from BlingBilinga on etsy and am enjoying them so much I wanted to give a little review.

I went looking for a "special" tip to complete my copper Sentinel mod setup. I've been an Etsy fan for years-- it's a site where handmade artists and artisans can list items for sale to the public. Lots of shops, from all over the world.

Originally I was going to order this little owl, but was worried about the "shrink wrap" fitment-- specifically how it would react to acidic juices. I traded messages back and forth with Di (BlingBilinga's artist) who said she hadn't received any reports of juice reaction, but I was still worried.

I picked up this beauty instead...

Di has 2 "types" of glass driptips; one with a shrink wrap fitment/no o-rings, and one that's basically a "sleeve" that fits over a stainless centerpost similar (same?) to Phiniac's Murano sleeve adapter. The adapter-sleeve types are larger, and imo are perfect for RBAs in their size. (This one's on top of my AGA-T2.)

Picture of adapter + sleeve.

The mouth opening is HUGE...

...but the adapter opening is smaller to fit inside the top of your setup.

What's nice is that the glass remains cool even thru the adapter, no matter the heat you're throwing at it. I've been using xc-116 ceramic on top of a 7x7 stainless steel rope, which makes the top cap of my AGA-T2 hotHOT at 0.9ohms, but I don't even notice it with this tip.
I love the way it looks too, a very high quality piece with a good heft to it. I'm a handmade/DIY junky so this hits all those feels for me... someone made this with their hands, piece by piece, with time and fire. Di's experience as a bead/"traditional" glass artisan shines thru, and just makes me happy :)

What also makes me happy? Surprises.

Di included this little owl tip with my order... a "tester" she had made while working out the owl motif in driptips. To say I was thrilled is an understatement... he's weird and wonky and wonderful all at once :) I think it looks awesome on my Sidewinder, like an owl in a bendy tree.

I got to try out the silicone "fitment" as well...

It works surprisingly well. I was worried it would look bad but it's not noticeable when seated, and I vaped Gremlin Juice's Strawberry Lemonade (apparently hates tanks and kills them with a sideways glance) for a few days with no issues or degradation. Di also includes an extra length of silicone sleeving, so you can replace it or fit it perfectly to seat in your device.

I did notice after SEVERAL hours of vaping thru the owl I would get a little... not spitback, but juice in my mouth. At first I thought it was from vapor collecting around the silicone and condensing into liquid...

...but maybe now I think it's vapor collecting inside the tip. Like I said, it takes several hours for it to occur; since these are handmade/not made in a mold they are not perfectly smooth inside, and the minute texture left behind in the tip-making process may cause it to occur. A simple rinse in water solves the problems for another day :) I didn't have the same result w/ the larger adapter + sleeve tip.

I think the tips are well-priced/reasonable for handmade glass, and though BlingBilinga is located in Australia (!!) shipping to me in the US/California was less than $3 and arrived a week later in perfect shape. The major pluses for me are the way they keep cool, and how cool they look :) Handmade too without a mold, so no one will have an "exact" replica of yours.

I am a fan. So much so that I went back and bought that little one-eared owl :) I think he'll look perfect with his odd brother "Tester." I also plan to talk to BlingBilinga in a few weeks to create a custom tip... I've been browsing her beads and lampwork glass and sold items and Facebook to get an idea of what she's capable of, so now I just have to make up my mind :)
