i guess its going to be pretty quiet in here today, everyone is going to be out and about. not me,1st weekend home in 4 weeks and i am not doing anything today except relaxing and eating. wife is making a big ham and all the fixins, and i am cleaning up my desk,if you could call it cleaning up. more like rearranging stuff and trying to find places to put things, out of site of course.funny how you accumulate so many small things and never figure out where to put them so you can find them again.

Good morning Treefam.....I would like to say Happy Easter/Ostara........the true name of the day....No matter what you call it today is the Vernal equinox.....

On the day of the equinox, the center of the Sun spends a roughly equal amount of time above and below the horizon at every location on the Earth, so night and day are about the same length..........

March equinox and September equinox: names referring to the times of the year when such equinoxes occur. These are without the ambiguity as to which hemisphere is the context, but are still not universal as not all people use a solar-based calendar where the equinoxes occur every year in the same month (as they do not in the Islamic calendar and Hebrew calendar, for example), and the names are not useful for other planets (Mars, for example), even though these planets do have seasons.

Thanks for this! It's very interesting.

Had a great meal. Did a large carving ham. It is by far the best ham I have done. Too bad I ate alone today. Hubby will be home tomorrow night and can have leftovers. I splurged on this one, it was like $.40/lb more expensive but it is a splurge I will do again. Flat and boneless so there won't be bits left to do a pot of beans though.
