3. Robin, I haven't. I've tried just about everything in the past and nothing helps. I think it's just a combination of insomnia and stress. Just a bunch of life stuff that I can distract myself from most of the time, but the result is not being about to sleep. I'll be alright eventually.
I can't believe it's almost Thanksgiving. We put up our Christmas tree Thanksgiving night and I usually have all my Christmas shopping done by now. I haven't bought one thing for Christmas yet. First year ever that I haven't even started shopping.

1. So my son comes home from college this past weekend and I come home last night to find that he had cleaned the house, including the kitchen...sounds nice, right? Well, it would be except he decided to go through the cabinets and ended up throwing away every single spice I had, plus a ton of other stuff, much of which I was going to be using on Thanksgiving dinner Thursday!
...I told him I appreciated him cleaning up, but asked him why he threw everything away...he said because it looked old! 
...So now my grocery list for today just got a whole lot longer! 
Bella, sorry you're not getting much sleep...sending you some good vibes your way....and Christmas shopping...why I haven't even thought about it yet...probably won't get anything for another couple of weeks...since my boys are all grown, all they want is clothes anyway, so I usually wait till the last minute to go shopping for them....and I don't even know if we'll put up a Christmas tree this year...we didn't even bother last year...everyone was so busy and no one was ever home, so it just didn't seem worth it...will probably do the same this year...that is unless my clean freak son decides he wants to do it!

Angel, your post made me LOL.. sounds like something my son would do. I wish we didn't have to put up the tree this year. The grandkids go up north for Christmas and since I don't have little ones Christmas just isn't fun anymore. My daughter insists on having a tree so she's in charge of it.
Gah, the older I get the grumpier I get. I'm so not in the holiday spirit this year. Christmas is usually my favorite time of year. I can't even get in the mood to shop. I may just wind up giving daughter money for Christmas and letting her do what she wants with it.

I'm drinking coffee and trying to get motivated. It's not working very well. Sorry you didn't sleep well Bella. I slept through the nite with the help of meds. I don't like doing it that way but it seems to be the only way I can get a decent nite's sleep. Angel sorry about your spices but I wish someone around here would clean.

If I could take meds to sleep, I would. I have to take enough to kill a normal person for them to work. Ambien is like taking sugar pills for me.

Bella, I know exactly how you feel about not being in the spirit...I haven't been for a couple of years now...and since my kids are grown I can get by with not doing any decorating. My cleaning fool, er I mean son, was the one who did it the last few years, but now that he's away at college, when he comes home he doesn't feel like messing with it either. Maybe it is time for me to start working....
I spent this whole morning to chat around, vaping outside with co-workers, and playing in ECF...
Since my office has been closed for last 6 days because of heavy snow storm, everybody brought tons of interesting stories to share with...
Oh, wait... lunch time is almost here.... I will start working after lunch.. LOL
Maybe it is time for me to start working....

Morning Treefam....I just got up as the street cleaner was so loud I thought it was the idiot with the blower starting at 9AM.......but I found that I am stuffy & had difficulty breathing..so I got up anyway.....

@ "Bella" - I feel for Ya' . . . Hope Ya' find some relief to get a full nights sleep soon . . . Thankfully, I only woke up once last night and got right back to sleep within 10 minutes . . . So - NICE ! ! ! After not being able to sleep the night through the night before . . .
@ "Angel" - If I may suggest very strongly that "You" have a serious discussion with "Your SON" about what constitutes the difference is between "Looking Old" (antiques) and actually "Being Old" (expired) . . . AND - Real FAST ! ! ! Don't want him to start considering "throwing out" everything that "Looks Old" - To Him . . . Just Sayin' . . .
BTW: Although I know the situation is not the same . . . Just as an FYI: I have a very close friend that had to have this type of intervention in her kitchen about 4 years ago when the was a group of friends helping her to clean-up and get ready for Thanksgiving at her home for 30 people . . . There were a number of spices and dried herbs (even duplicates -totalling 100 in all) found in the pantry/near the stove/cabinets that were there for over 10 years that just had to go in the garbage . . . NOT NICE ! ! !
As - For Christmas Shopping - I and "My" Friends DO NOT Shop before the Holidays/Christmas day and wait until after for all the Christmas/Holiday sales (we all dislike paying full price for something , especially when it is 40% - 70% off right after the holiday) . . . So - When we meet up to exchange gifts we hand each other a card with the intended gift be given and then purchase it for them later . . . Still leaves the surprise and makes LIFE so much easier . . .
AND - For Decorations - Although I use to decorate for Christmas every year, including 12' - 14' Tree/Garland & Lights around all Windows-Doors/Hang Stocking/etc. . . . Now - If I am in the mood, I just keep it simple by decorating a table with Ceramic Trees w/Lights and maybe put lights up around the windows . . . (BTW: Made life even easier when I gave all of "My" extra Christmas Decorations (including all the antique decorations from when I was a kid) to a friend when their Christmas decorations were stolen by a home healthcare aid . . .)
