Good morning treefam. I can't believe I didn't get a chance to check in at all yesterday. I think these split days off are killing my energy level. I haven't had two consecutive days off in four weeks, and won't for another week.

Sorry about the delivery fiasco, Count. There's a lesson in there though, a person really needs to ask around on those add on charges before finalizing a major purchase. At my store (and I'm not sure if this is chain wide, or market specific) we have free delivery and haul away on all appliances, with the exception of gas dryers/ranges and dishwashers, that basically lowers the purchase price by a hundred dollars. Also many retailers will match or beat competitors price so one can use that to their advantage.

I did delivery for a couple of months last winter (normally work plumbing, go figure), and that 12 minute delivery goal is ridiculous, the second you add any stairs you're already over. I've spent 2+ hours at a stop, it meant the store was paying some over time, but that's the cost of doing business, as soon as a business loses sight of the customer's needs, their repeat business and referrals has gone down the drain, and those customers are so hard to win back.

Stepping off my soapbox, and getting another coffee now.

You're right, phager. And that is one of the reasons I posted... Sears used to do free delivery etc. In fact, both the last dryer and the washing machine were purchased from Sears and there were no delivery charges and the guys got it up the stairs. Really, that was what I paid the $70 for. The rest is pretty easy.

Oh well.

3. Robin, hope you get your SIM card quickly...I know it's hard to have to wait to play with your new toy! :D

Embarrassed to admit, but the SIM card was already in the phone; pre-installed.
The empty space I saw is for the optional memory card.

JJ, I can say that they look real, even real wax...I got these ones from Walgreens...not the scented kind..although they were prettier....changing colors and all..but the ones I got even have a remote....so I can put them on the shelf and not bank them around to turn them on....

2. I just found out that I won a contest and didn't realize it. It was a multiple winner contest and I congratulated all the winners.. Just happened to click on the thread today and the host had quoted my post and said I had won too  I didn't see my name when I first read the winning post.. what's so bad is that my name was posted first! I blame lack of sleep over the past several weeks.

Count did you get in touch with the store? If so what was the outcome?
I didn't do it yesterday because the work was not yet completed. I did find the delivery agreement that has one line in it that states that delivery people will not hoist appliances over banisters or through windows, though. I'll try hitting the store after the guys come back today to "install" it (like I said, I could do it, but I want them to come back out of sheer principle).
