Good morning treefam. I can't believe I didn't get a chance to check in at all yesterday. I think these split days off are killing my energy level. I haven't had two consecutive days off in four weeks, and won't for another week.
Sorry about the delivery fiasco, Count. There's a lesson in there though, a person really needs to ask around on those add on charges before finalizing a major purchase. At my store (and I'm not sure if this is chain wide, or market specific) we have free delivery and haul away on all appliances, with the exception of gas dryers/ranges and dishwashers, that basically lowers the purchase price by a hundred dollars. Also many retailers will match or beat competitors price so one can use that to their advantage.
I did delivery for a couple of months last winter (normally work plumbing, go figure), and that 12 minute delivery goal is ridiculous, the second you add any stairs you're already over. I've spent 2+ hours at a stop, it meant the store was paying some over time, but that's the cost of doing business, as soon as a business loses sight of the customer's needs, their repeat business and referrals has gone down the drain, and those customers are so hard to win back.
Stepping off my soapbox, and getting another coffee now.
