Glowing Carto?

I've been vaping for 2 months now using an ego with 2.0 lr bogue cartos and I feel like I have a good idea how a good carto should perform. So my last 2 packs of cartos I've ordered 8 of them are not working properly. When I turn on the batt you can see a bright glowing coil down the tube in the carto and it starts smoking. The vape tastes burnt and burns your throat. I have filled most of them using the condom method keeping in mind I've filled quite a few with no problems. I also filled a couple using the Terryn spin with the same results.

My question is am I doing something wrong or just bad luck with some bad cartos?

Sounds like it's not wicking. If you can see a glowing coil, it sounds like they forgot to put the wicking material in. Take one apart and see if there is a little piece of cloth under the poly fill material wrapped around the coil.

Unfortunately, applying power to a dry filler will burn it. Therein lies the bad taste. You can test before you fill with a volt/ohm meter. If it registers Ohms, it will fire, then add your juice and happy vaping!

It does sound like you know what you're doing. There is a chance that the wicking material may not be in or there was something wrong with the manufacturing of the coils themselves (though it seems unlikely that they would all end up in the same box). I have had a couple DCCs that did this, but they were just a couple out of hundreds. I would contact the supplier and see if they have had other reports, it may be a huge defective batch. I just got some bunk attys and it turns out I was the first one to report them and the whole batch was faulty.

Thanks for the relplies and I was doing some further checking on the technical problems section and it seems this has been an issue for several people lately using the Bogue LR Cartos. Maybe some sloppy work going on trying to catch up with all the backorders after Chinese New Year. Any chance I can take them apart and fix the wicking or are they just toasted and would most vendors allow me to return them?

RocketRod-None of them were dry when I tried them, they were all recently filled.
