Should I be skeptical about glue free tanks offered by companies such as KangerTech? Seems like every time I buy one they simply fall apart after a few refills and are impossible to put back together safely without leaking. I do vape pretty heavily so maybe someone can point me in the direction of a decent tank that is built to last?
I have an iTaste MVP 2 and I've tried tanks from the regular CE4 style to Vivi Novas, iClear 30s (had great success until my juice started turning black when I use wattage rather than voltage) I've used RDAs (Little Boy RDA Clone specifically but they are generally juice hogs and don't really want to chase clouds I just want the nicotine) I've used standard Boge Cartomizers in all ranges of Ohms, more recently the KangerTech Genitank mini (the one that fell apart) and Kanger T3 and T3s (both leaked like crazy). I'm not new to vaping, I understand changing coils and cleaning is important and I wouldn't use Ohms that would harm battery life or blow up in my face, I just want a reliable vape. A decent tank worth the money with changeable coils that's not going to leak, gurgle, spit in my mouth, or fall apart on me lol. I am looking into a Protank but they are glue free so that's the reason for my question here. Thanks !

Hi @mjustind12 The two best tanks I have experienced are the Aspire Nautilus Mini/full size (12 to 15 watts), and the Kanger Subtank Mini (using the 1.2 ohm factory coils @ 18 to 20 Watts, and a more restrictive drip tip.) I am a mouth to lung vaper. Anything more and you'll need a more powerful mod. The Kanger also comes with a .5 ohm OCC and a rebuild deck.

Welcome mjustind12 :)

I have a half-dozen kanger PT2s, and I have yet to have a leak problem - they're easily 9 months old. Just check your orings - its possible that you've lost some when cleaning. Like Sir2, I also have Nautis and Subtanks (Mini & Nano). Again, as long as I take care of the orings, no probs whatsoever.

(not sure why your juice was turning black with the wattage setting, unless you were running too hot???)

I didn't get into a lot of different tanks - mostly EVODs, a couple of Mini ProTanks. My staples now are the PT2s and the Nautis and the Subtanks....

My iTaste only runs to 11 Watts max you think that would be okay?

@DingerCPA
I'll take a look at those thank you! It is possible I might have lost some o rings I clean pretty frequently and my eyes aren't so great lol.

I found with the Nautis, I was pushing 10+ watts to get a vape pleasant for *ME*. The subtanks, unless you're building your own, probably won't work. The stock coils are 0.5 ohm or 1.2 ohm. The MVP is rated to only fire down to about 1.2 ohms, but even then, probably won't be enjoyable.

There are tons of other tanks out there that will work quite well on the MVP2 (I had 3 of them at one time :) )

I know for a fact that some people run the Nautilus 1.8 ohm coils at 9 or 10 watts. I probably did when I started with it, but now I vape it some hotter. Your MVP is NOT enough for the Kanger Subtank Mini. If you upgrade to an iStick 30W you can easily use both of the tanks.
