Hey Jay, love the new GLV pics you have up on your site! It may be kinda late in the game for me to ask about this lol, but: In the pic linked below it looks like some of the caps are a darker, smoky color (unless they just appear that way in the pic), and I'm wondering if that's an option one can choose?

GLV-2 Mini 3.6 Volt Electronic Cigarette Pre-Order Kit [GLV-2-MINI-PRE-ORDER-KIT] - $90.00 : Electronic Cigarettes and E-Liquid - Great Lakes Vapor

...If they are darker, how are they made that way -- e.g. is it powder coating & matte; or shiny/metallic as 'usual,' only darker? In the pic I do like the way the darker ones look on the colors I ordered my minis in (dark blue and green), but the main reason I'm interested is because I figure they might be less reflective/attention-grabbing at those times one prefers stealth! (?)

So! If desired, could I still get the darker caps on the minis I already have coming? (If it takes longer that's no problem at all.) If so tho, first I'd like to know what process is used to make them darker, as mentioned above, so I can get a better idea what they'd actually look like. (If you happen to have a good pic of a darker cap, that would be swell to see!)

And sorry lol, but I have one more question: Are you going to sell the AW batts separately too (didn't see them listed that way on your site)? If so, what will cost be, and would I have the option of adding some to my existing order such that there'd be no additional shipping cost? :D Hey, can't hurt to ask lol!

(If it would be easier for you to answer any of this via phone or PM that's fine of course. :))

Hehe it occurred to me maybe I should just find out first if it was only how they looked in the pic, before I typed up a whole essay on it! But, that just wouldn't have been my style! :p:D

Anyway I'll stick with the default standard aluminum caps then, rather than whole-body colored powder coating. Did I say that right lol, in other words pretend I never mentioned it; 'silver' caps will be A-OK!! :2cool: (Just wanna make sure I can sleep tonight! ;))

Yup $hua, that will be interesting to see! I bet it will look very cool on that matte black body.

Cool!!...I'm afraid the 3.0v Tenergy batteries I have may not pack the punch the AW's do!

Wow...Can't wait to see that!! Wonder if Jay could just powder coat additional caps and ends If I decided to go with a 6v cap as well as my 5v?

I have found the 3v tenergys do ok. just dont last as long as the 3.7 aw's

I would get a set of aws though as they are great batteries.

Doots...any difference in the power? or is it just the length of general use? I do plan on buying a few sets....my charger is a switch hitter(3v or 3.6v).

Man that little white mini your getting is sweet!!

wiz, thanks..

there is a slight difference in strength using the 3v'ers as opposed to the 3.7's but not a lot.. It still hits well like a 5v should. A little less time also but not too much. I prefer the Aw's and have used them for 6 months or more. The Aw's last longer than the trustfires and fit the tube way better.

You're gonna like yours when you get it..

With the UltraFires I originally started with, I'd figured it might be good to follow the proposed rule of thumb I read somewhere of disposing of those or TrustFires after 2-3 months of regular use, no matter what. But with the better quality and safety features of the AWs, maybe we can pretty much just disregard the time period itself (well, except to the extent that even unused Li-ions are expected to die within approx. 1.5 to 2 years iirc anyway), and go by the ballpark number of charges only. Since the estimated number of charges for these AWs is 500, and I've charged the batch I got around January once a day at most... apparently I can look forward to them having a much longer life even than they've had already. :thumb: Unless I notice a marked drop in how long they hold a charge or something, which I haven't, but I haven't 'tracked' that either.

I do have a set of the AW IMR high drain also, which is a different chemistry. Actually haven't used them at 5V yet (waiting on my pre-stretched GLV-1 batt cap spring for that... ah, killed two birds with one stone there -- also got to remind Jay about the stretching again lol ;)) but FYI, at 3.7V I don't notice that they last longer (despite their low mAh), as I think has been one of the benefits predicted by some due to their appropriateness for high drain uses such as ours. Those ones are more expensive and their chemistry may be the safest of all, but from what I can tell so far at 3.7V, I think I'll just be sticking with the standard high quality AW Li-ions.

mM.....The only factor that comes into play for me is cost. I can get the Tennergy LiFeP04 3v's for a little over $3 each in a bulk order from BJ........At $7 or 8 bucks a pop for the AW's I would have to settle for fewer. I will have to weigh out the difference in use.
